Araon
Day after day after day I sit in this cove with no one remembering me,no one remembering what happened to me, no one. I lean back and try to stay out of eyes view of anyone walking past. I've had enough attention for a life time. I watch as the waves crash in going up to the cove entrance but never daring to come in. They are always constant no matter what, the only constant thing about my life. I slowly pick at the sand in the cove making a deep hole with my long skinny index finger when a shadow blocks out the sun. I look up to see a girl my age staring at me in disbelief. Her auburn hair tossing in the wind making her look ferocious. On the other hand, her blue ocean eyes said different as they pooled with disappointment. She just stood staring hovering her short, curved figure outside of the cove. But no one ever comes to the cove...
"I know I'm attractive but not that attractive" I smiled playfully at her. 'Dick move Aaron, dick move. You don't want her to think you're that typical cocky boy do you? Oh well she'll forget tomorrow,' I thought to myself 'they always do'.Amelia
He made me blush. I hadn't even known his name and he made me blush. I don't like him already. Firstly he was in the cove that I go to and secondly he made me blush. It must of been the cold air on my cheeks or the sea salt spray but not him. I don't blush and especially not at cocky boys.
"Sorry" I mumbled more to myself than at the stranger as I looked down at my chipped indigo toe nails as I buried my feet into the ground. If I could I would of followed my feet's example and started to burry myself out of this awkward situation. Yet I couldn't move. I forced myself to look up at him again as I swallowed in his details with my eyes. His hair was jet black that stood out in different directions on top of his head. The jet black hairline contrasted with the olive skin that covered his whole body. I could tell just by him sitting down that he was lean and tall due to his long legs being tangled up under him. Then our eyes met. Deep green emeralds stared up at me. I always yearned for green eyes so green that they made grass look discoloured but I was never blessed with green eyes. He couldn't be English but he wasn't Welsh due to his smooth accent. He must of been Italian or something.
I realised I was staring again then looked away not sure what to do. I never got awkward in front of people I normally just pushed them away. Boys continuously try to talk to me but I shoot them down, who needs a relationship at 16? Not me for sure. But as I looked at this stranger I could see something different, something welcoming but harsh at the same time. As if reading my thoughts he looked up at me again.
"Araon...my name is Araon" he said shyly not with the confidence that he first showed.
"Amelia" I surprised myself by saying. Maybe I judged this guy too quickly to start off with.Araon
She was beautiful and I didn't know how to look away from her. Her appearance was like Boudicca with her flowing red hair and her fierce look but as I looked into her eyes it was as if I could see into her soul. I had never had this connection with anyone before not before the accident or after. It was something new that I had never experienced. She caused this day to be different.
"Why....why don't you sit down?" I said shuffling over in the small cove and patting the ground next to me smiling sincerely at her. She sheepishly moved her legs from where she was glued to the sand and shuffled into the cove stepping over my long lanky legs that I had just stretched out. Gracefully, she sat down staring at me so intensely it was uncomfortable.
"Urm...so Amelia, do you come here often?"
Seeming to take a while to process the question, she slowly looked down at her hands fiddling with the thin jewelled ring on her middle finger.
"Yes," she began in a husked voice. " but I've never seen you here. I always come to the cove and no one is in it," she looked up curiously. " how come you just turned up out of the blue?"
Her directness shocked me before I could answer the question.
"I-I used to come here as a kid and I wanted to come back" he lied shrugging off the question.
She seemed satisfied with the answer and went back to playing with her ring.
They sat in silence for a few minutes before Amelia seemed to realise something and turned to Aaron with suspicion in her eyes.
Tightening her eyes she glared at him.
" I've never seen you are school, you're not some creepy pervert are you?" she asked widening the space between them as she talked.
"W-w-what?" Aaron stuttered.
"No," he began as he regained his composure "I probably just go to a different school" he lied again.
She didn't seem impressed with his answer but she also didn't question him further.
After another few awkward moments of silence Amelia got up dusting sand off from her ripped denim jeans.
" I've got to go...it was nice...seeing you" she stumbled around the last few words not sure what to say.
"Bye then" Aaron said as she turned around not even giving him a backwards look. 'Well I'll probably never see her again and if I do she won't remember anything that just happened' Aaron thought to himself. His fingers racked against his knees trying to figure out what had just happened. He was never normally awkward around girls, so why was she different?
Amelia
'Well that was awkward' she thought to herself setting a mental note to kick herself later.
Still that had never happened to her before, sure nerdy guys had acted shy around her before but never soon to be model good looking guys. What had happened?
