It's been a few days since Jared was put in that coma. Jen is a mess, and won't come out of her room for anything. Everyone is starting to lose their places, because without their alpha and luna, they can't stay together.

Even me and Cody can't keep it together. The old alpha and luna are taking over today, until Jen and Jared can get on their feet again.

Jared is improving greatly. He sometimes moves, and his fever is almost gone. His wounds have not healed though.

The herd still needs to accept him in the next few days, or he might be dead by next week. As I remember this, Cody bursts through the door.

"He's awake."

"What are we waiting for?!"

"He.... Umm..."
Cody rubs the back of his neck.

"What?! What happened?!"

"He doesn't remember much, and he is getting worse. This will be the only day to get him in the herd."

I nod and go to my brother. I hear screams turn to neighs as he shifts. The bones cracking can be heard from down the hall way.

I run to see him standing in his depleted form. It's skinny and his fur is rough. Scars poke out like sore thumbs and his fur is ragged. It's graying from overwork. He looks like a uglier color of me.

I hold back a sob, wanting to help him.

"Lead him out, get the herd to accept him again."

I nod and lead him out, bringing him to his old herd. His hooves click on the hard cobble, waking every horse in the stables.

I look at his eyes, seeing them dull, almost lifeless. It's like he's given up hope, for love, for help. His head is low and he doesn't even look around at the other horses.

He just follows, and when he sees his herd, he doesn't even look excited. The 2 foals rush over and neigh happily. Their happiness fades to sadness as they see his condition.

Even the older horses looked happy. I know they want him back. Well, some of them. Only half the herd walks over and neighs in rejoice. The other half look at him is disgust and walk away.

A horse from our stables had temporarily taken Jared's position. He held his head high as he walked past Jared. This angered me to the bone. I was about to say something, when Cody came out.

"Did it work?"
He looks at me, hope filling his eyes. I shake my head.

"Our horse permanently took his place, only half the herd accepted him."

His hope quickly diminishes, quickly replaced by rage. He grabs a lead and puts it on our horse, before dragging him back into the stables.

The lead in my hand got heavy, and I turned to see Jared had fallen.

"Cody!!"

"What?! What happened?!"

He rushes out, and sees Jared on the ground.

"Oh no."

Hey guys, sorry I haven't updated recently. We had finals and I went to see the new Star Wars movie, which is AWESOME!!!!

I also got to see wicked for the second time, and that's an amazing performance.

And yes, this chapter is shorter then it should be. It's because that was a good place to leave it and I have writers block. Just hold on for me.
