Nepeta's POV (1st person)
I'm beyond overjoyed that me and Karkat managed to get Rose and Kanaya together. I kind of forgot the rush of happiness you feel when you know you've done something good to help out your friends. I have to take credit for a few of the ships that happened on Alternia. You know Arasol? Wouldn't have happened without a little meddling. I knew they would each be okay with it though. It was soooo obvious that they liked each other! Things were going so well until.. wellllllll
But it's okay now, they're probably shipping it up all over the dream bubbles, and they have me to thank!
Rose and Kanaya fell asleep watching the movie that we set up for them, and me and Karkat moved into the room he set up for us so that we wouldn't have to walk back to Casa De LaStride when everyone else was most likely asleep.
Karkat had laid out a lot of blankets on the floor that he probably found in the pile of crap in the corner of the room. Along with that were some pillows, snacks, and his crabtop.
He walked over and sat down in the pile of cushions and typed a few things on his crabtop to start up some movie. Surprise, surprise, it's a romance movie.
In my old cave I would sometimes watch romcoms, but also a lot of other things. My personal favorite was The Grub Games. It's about a young troll huntress, like me, who defies the government for the wrong it had caused and made it pay for all of the awful things that it did to the people. I find it really inspiring!
Not that I would ever be as important as Catniss. But it's always nice to have a role model to look up to.
Karkat pats the spot next to him with his hand, motioning for me to sit down, so I do.
A few minutes pass and I'm really bored. I don't want to sound prissy, don't get me wrong like I love romance movies, but this one suuuucks. Just another story about a girl troll who falls in love with a boy troll who is too popular for her and then he realizes through a strange series of events that she is actually the one for him. It's so original that it's been done like a MILLION times. Sigh.
I look over at Karkat and my mind starts to drift a little bit. We haven't sat like this since the night that we both couldn't sleep and we played that question game but never finished.
"Hey Karkat." I say, but I don't think he hears me because he's just sat there staring at the screen.
"Karkaaaaaaaat" This time a shushes me. Rude! I grabbed his face and made him look and me and go "Karkat!" again and he stares at me for a few seconds before saying "What?"
"Remember that night where we played 20 questions but went to sleep before we finished?
"Yeah why?"
"Maaaybe we could play again!"
"But what about the movie?"
"Oh. I've seen it before" I lie and chuckle a little bit. "Do you want to start or me?"
He points to me and then leans over to turn down the crabtop. Then he sits back in the position he was in before and looks at me again waiting for my question.
"Okay so.. hmm.. what do you miss the most about Alternia?"
"Wow. Way to start it off on a depressing note." He says and rolls his eyes a bit. I laugh and apologize.
"I think it would have to be hanging out with all of my friends like normal trolls do." He continues, "I preferred that a lot more than being stuck on a rock hurtling millions of miles through space at a time and having to wait forever to talk to my dead friends."
