Chapter 03: What makes me breathe.
Failure, is the stepping stone for the succes. Succes is the key for the future. The future is succesful like what It's supposed to be. We've done wrongs on our past. That changes us so we become stronger. Failure is not an option. If we fall? The greater the fall, the grander the Ascension.
Pinehearst high-school,
Jeremy, Lynco and Don.
Following Lynco's do or die plan, Jeremy waits for the signal. Lynco stands on the rooftop edge, attracting the snipers below and the squads below them.
" The plan's working, They thought were not here. Now they know." Lynco said.
Noticing Lynco, alerts the squad so they quickly enter the building. The bait is been bit.
Lynco jump from the top of the Six-story building landing feet first. Thanks to his ability, he's unscathed. When he checks the surroundings theres still many other squads expecting him to jump.
" You fell into our trap, Lynco." Don said while hiding behind his mens.
Lynco smile and he scratchef his head." You really are predictable..." Lynco smiled.
Don was not getting Lynco's point but a sudden wind blow surprised them. The squad's suddenly fall and the one's inside the building had been blown back by a fast wind blow.
"Sir! It's Jeremy! He ran past through us!!" One of the fallen soldier said.
Lynco takes the chance and he go for a run. Quickly, Don signals his men to follow Lynco and he get his gun from his holster. " That one! He's not far! He's been shot! " Don said. "I want his body! Dead or Alive! but alive is better!" He ordered them. And his men started to search for Jeremy.
Lynco, who runaway is being chased a group of three men. He takes a sudden left and a dead end face him. The men whos chasing him takes the same left too and they also reach a dead end. They checked the every corner but Lynco's gone. "Number One? Any signs? " The guy with the shirt numbered 3 said. They check again carefully but there's no sign of him.
"Nega-" Number one wasn't be able to finished his sentence because Lynco walkthrough his hand to his diaphgram so he quickly lose consciousness.
The others was about to shoot Lynco but he sinks on the ground, making him dissappear again. They try to wake number one but they lose consciousness too because Lynco quickly sneak on them and phase his hands through they're stomachs by using his ability.
Stopped on an oak tree, the wounded Jeremy takes a rest after running. He's still inside the school, so he takes a little rest before running again. While catching his breathe, Don's guys had followed him and they already take many of their men and they circle the wounded Jeremy.
"Damn it...! I can't run any more..." He said with agony on his face and tone.
The armed men aimed their gun at Jeremy and they prepare they're fire.
Don appeared again behind his mens and he started to argue with Jeremy.
"Jeremy Milliard... This will not happen, if you didn't run." Don said with an outrageous rage on his face.
"If we dont run away... You'll still kill us, right..?" The wounded Jeremy tries to still talk.
Don was thinking about what he said.
"Hmmm... Youre right about that. " Don said. "End his story! We just need his body!"
Don ordered and his mens started shooting Jeremy until they have no ammo's. Blazing bullets, Hailing fire power, and Falling ammunition filled the place.
The shooting ebded, smoke filled the poor oak tree. When the smoke dissolved, Jeremy's not there anymore. Although there's blood on the ground, Jeremy is still missing. "DAMN!!" Don said angrily. "He's close! Keep looking!" Don ordered.
2 minutes earlier...
" End his story! We just need his body! " Don ordered and his men started firing. Jeremy was hit by too many bullets but suddenly the bullets starts walking through him.
Lynco's hand was on the ground touching Jeremy's back, making him to also walkthrough things.Before the shooting ends, Lynco grabbed Jeremy through the ground and they got away.
The desperate Lynco carries Jeremy on his back trying to run away from Don. They entered the gymnasium and there's no one else in there so he put Jeremy down on the bleachers. Lynco checks Jeremy's body to see if he can still save him but when he lift up jeremy's shirt. Jeremy's body was tirn already, his stomach changed color to violet and his right part of stomach is ripped. Also his left arm was shot including his right leg.
Lynco still checks for other wounds but while he checks. tears appear out of his eyes. He started crying about what happened to Jeremy. "You don't deserve this..." Lynco cried as tears and regrets appears from Lynco, Jeremy started to gain consciousness.
"Lynco? Are you there?" Jeremy asked.
Lynco was shocked, he quickly hugged jeremy, " Thank god, you're still alive, we can still get a doctor for you to fix you!" Lynco Nervously said.
" Lynco..." Jeremy whispered.
" What is it, Jeremy? Don't worry I'll get you out of here. " Lynco said.
" Lynco... " Jeremy whispered and tears appeared out of his eyes. " Where are you? Why can't i see you?" Jeremy frightened.
Lynco was shocked and he checks Jeremy's body and he saw a gunshot wound at the back of jeremy's head. That's the cause of his sudden blindness. Lynco kept silent while he's crying. Jeremy feels Lynco's tears so he asked him quickly. " Why are you crying too?"
Lynco wipes his tears and answers. " I can't do anything for you ,i failed on helping you."
Jeremy stopped crying and he touch Lynco's left hand. " It can't be help then... " he said. " You've done everything that you can. Thanks for Everything, may we be fast like the wind."
The words that came out from Jeremy was his last. Jeremy, didn't make it.
Lynco shocked by Jeremy's death, He started shouting so loud.
Suddenly, The gymnasium doors open and Don and his men found them. Don was dissappoint about Jermy's death, it seems like he really dont wanna kill Jeremy. Don's men tried to calm Lynco down but he keeps shouting and shouting. Like he already lost his mind.
"What happened to you tough guy?!" Don asked Lynco. " Have you really lost it?"
Lynco keeps shouting and Don was irritated so he shove Lynco's head with his gun ,and Lynco shut up because he lose consciousness. " He's Broken." Don said.
They recover Jeremy's body, and they strap Lynco to a carrier bed.
Don takes out a rosary inside his shirt, he signed a cross and he said.
" Your death will not be in vain , Jeremy. Rest in Peace. "
The Death of a hero is a push to the living. They're example and stories are our lesson to prevent to do the same mistake again. Even though were going to make new ones, we should not be afraid.
