Silence reigns over the darkness. They can't hear the imprisoned screams. Better off dead? Better off never being.
She runs. Yesterday's monsters are gaining. Faster. No one to hear the screams of the demons who surround her. Its gaining. Its coming. Run.
SURRENDER- a demon shrikes. And for a small second, she believes it. She believes the demons, they are all she knows, their shrieks are more of a comforting lullaby rather than the agonizing melody they once were, and their songs have become her own.
NO. They were the ones who ruined her. Ravaged her mind. Laid waste to her reason. They worked with the monster. They created this hell. Run..
Its too late... It has her.
Claws desend.
Pain and blood. But her screams of pain are drowned out by the silence. She opens her eyes to face it. Face the monster. Claws turn to hands. Red tears leak from her skin. The beasts face becomes familiar. She blinks in disbelief. "Mum?"
The darkness rains down. The silence is deafening.
Opening her eyes she feels, for maybe the first time.. a semblance of peace?
And in this place, in this fortress of lavender fields she found herself in, she was safe and nothing could hurt her.Somethings approaching. Its coming closer. Faster. It runs towards her. Her fragile form cannot take another battle. She has to run. Its so close. Nearer. Nearer. Closer. Faster it moves. Betrayed by her legs the panic set in. "Help" she cries. No response. The demons have forsaken her. She is alone. And its coming to ravage her. And she has no defence. Its here now and it will take from her.. The monsters always take.
Stillness. It makes no move to break her. She looks into its eyes. Deep into the hollow white eyes she looks and somewhere in them she sees the silence breaking. Cracking, fracturing, tearing. Freedom- thats what she sees.
It is no monster. Its a man. White eyes, glass skin. "I am Xilaskar high Shaman of Xəyal" his words are like a stream of velvet and the anxiety melts. She doesnt know him, but she his foreign familiarity is overwhelming. "Why am I here?" Her words rush out if her mouth. No fear. No hestiation. "I know many things in all the worlds and I know you Cathy. You are the key, only you have the power to end this war".
War? How could she end a war? She had lost battle after battle with the monster. It took everything. The monster feasts upon the spoils of their war. Feasts upon her mind. Shes defeated. She cannot fight. How could she be the key?"Cathy you are chosen" the shaman continues to spout out lies.
Lies.. lies..LIES. Her mind choruses. But there are no demons to sing with her. Taking another glance into his eyes, she feels peace. There are no screams here.
She is not governed by the silence. She does not fear the silence.
With one deep breath, fear steps aside and determination sets in. "Who is my enemy?" She demands. Lavender fields part.
Xilaskar takes her hand and together they set out. He was her peace.
And the King of silence felt fear.***P.S guys please comment with what you think and any suggestions of how to improve. Thank you
