Someday

Voices from earth will cry out and say,

"Your dreams and wishes will soon come your way,

But dreams die dim at the price to be paid.

So wait for your time; it will come someday."

The thought still lives on to this very day

That we cannot conquer or do as we may.

This is why countless folks go far astray

Lest failure should haunt their every way.

"I'll do it!" One voice on earth may say.

"Although I'll start the task some other day,

For I am not as strong as I was yesterday."

This keeps power, will, and courage at bay.

Another voice may come forth and say,

"Oh, earth, give me your worst and I shall not sway;

But I rather relish in the rut where I stay.

So I will do it tomorrow, okay?"

Do not wait for success to come one day

For we are not promised "someday" will stay.

Withdraw from the rut, forsake where you lay;

Don't seize your goal tomorrow but today.
