Salazar did find the boy in fact , despite how hopeless it had seemed in the beginning. He was one of the best trackers there was, nothing less could be expected from him of course, his pet spirit being maze, demon of roads less traveled by, the wicked spirit that lead people astray. Maze could find anything, so long as it did exist.
Damien and Nerezza breathed a sigh of relief, they were finally going to rescue Neil, they prepared themselves weaving protective spell over spell on their stones. Alaster hummed in anticipation, he disliked veilas, it would be fun to sever its head from the rest of it. Perhaps he could somehow convince Nerezza to keep the thing alive for a while, prolong his fun a little, perhaps tear the things tongue out, he'd make Nerezza keep it's teeth in a jar , souvenirs, souvenirs.
They followed Salazar's trail, Abbadon tagging along, Hissana the only one who stayed behind. It lead them to a seemingly abandoned rickety old building that looked like it was going to turn to dust, smack dab in the middle of no where, the only place marginally near the house a run down town that was so secluded from the world outside that it had no newspaper supply. If it weren't for Salazar they probably wouldn't have found the boy at all. They entered the old building surprised to be stopped by an ork, a rather foolish creature that was basically conditioned to follow orders. It made sense that the mystery man was an ork though, they couldn't talk, followed orders to the tee, and were quite powerful, in other words a perfect tool. The veila didn't so much as leave a trace behind. It took quite a bit of effort to bring the ork down , alive because Abbadon figured it could be a useful weapon. After binding the ork securely, they split up, opening the doors of the old house one by one, searching for the boy, Alaster grumbling the whole time in Nerezza's head because the thing had been clever enough to cover it's tracks.
Salazar came across a door that had the heavy rusty smell of magic, there were two powerful spells on the door, one preventing pet spirits from breaking the door apart from inside, the other done by the spirit inside to prevent entrance. Salazar's eyes widened to the size of saucers when he couldn't break the spirits spell, damn the one serving the kid had be real powerful if he could keep Maze out of the door. He walked off trying to find Nerezza or Damien, the only way that particular door opens is if the kid wanted it too.
They finally got Neil to open the door, his spirit taking a defensive position next to the boy. It was Loki, the demon lord of mischief, pranks and spells. It was no wonder that Maze couldn't open the door. Loki smirked on seeing Maze ,he served Loki in the Obyss, "No wonder I felt a familiar hand trying to push through my spell, you've improved quite a bit Maze" Loki said in a velvety sing song voice. Maze nodded his head in respect, it was quite stupid of him not to recognize his lords magic, he had after all served him for a few eons.
Neil looked at Damien and Nerezza wide eyed , overwhelmed with relief. "I t-thought I'd be st-stuck there forever" The boy stuttered, finding it hard to keep his emotions in check. On hearing the emotion and insecurity in the boy's voice, Damien pulled Neil into a tight hug, cooing soothing things in his ear. It made him feel warm and comfortable after a long time. The boy fell asleep in Damien's hands feeling safe at last. Damien chuckled when he realized that the boy was just sleeping , he was probably quite exhausted , now that the whole thing boiled over. A small smile lit up his face when the boy snuggled into his chest, sleeping comfortably in his arms. They finally entered the palace grounds, Hissana anxiously waiting for there. Abbadon noticed a strange look cross Hissana's eyes for a split second before his expression went back to his usual sweet self. Abbadon was sure he imagined the look, he was probably exhausted and was seeing things, he wouldn't let his dumb imagination come in between him and his light, not when things were going so so well between them. He threw the ork into a highly secured prison cell, he didn't want to take any chances, not when the veila was still at large. A creature like this can always come in handy. He smirked, now that the whole thing was over he had to send off Salazar, an old friend of his with whom he loved bickering regularly. They often traded favors back and forth, albeit reluctantly. He couldn't wait till the next debt was owed.
Damien carried Neil to one of the guest bedrooms, he had no plans of waking the boy up, just to take him home. It sure as hell was safer here in the palace than any other place. His eyes moved to Loki who was staring at him with a smirk on his face, a mischievous glint in his eyes. HE decided to ignore Loki. He lay the boy on the bed, replacing his dirty clothes with a robe, putting socks on his feet so that his feet don't feel cold. He smiled when the boy made himself comfortable on the bed, for some reason reminding him of a kitten in a basket. He pulled a blanket over the boy and left him to his dreams, he didn't want to stay there and stare at the boy like a stalker, especially in the presence of Loki. Loki was one of the more manipulative lords, he wasn't malicious per say, but Damien didn't want to give Loki anything over his head. One can't be too careful around them. Because of his heritage, he didn't have a pet spirit and he'd never come even close to trusting those of Obyss, and if his grandfather was anything to go by, he didn't want to either.
