Taking cover behind Yuna and Juliet, Alice was watching the battle from a safe place.

"Yuna, help me!"

"Haaa! Water Blast!" Juliet chimed in.

"Divine power leads us to a triumph, Blessing!""

While Eight the monk and Ken the knight was attacking a fox head-on, Yuna and Juliet attacked at the fox from behind. The fox moved swiftly from one place to another. It dodged Eight's fist with little damage, and the tail attacks when it suddenly spun around were sometimes critical enough to make him back away. With little stamina left, Eight and Ken often found themself at the risk of immobilization. Then, Yuna would give her rapid healing to replenish their life and stamina.

They're not bad and teamwork was okay too. They neither lusted for cheap items, nor became worked up over small things. It appeared to Alice that the chemistry among her teammates had built up over time. Perhaps they had teamed up in another online game before they migrated to Crimson Blaze or they known each other in real life.

Rabbits were easy game, which Eight or Ken could handle alone. But a fox was tough, to put it mildly. Alice easily grasped that this party focused on foxes in their hunting spree. She watched the ongoing battle for a while-until she thought she had seen enough of it. Her sharp eyes analyzed the patterns in movement of the foxes and her teammates.

'It's easier than I thought.'

They outnumbered their enemy by four to one. The way a fox moved was slow and predictable as far as Alice could see. She watched it until she gained enough confidence. Then, she held the iron bow. Eight smiled at Alice who had understood the fighting system

"Watch out, Alice-chan" Said Yuna

"Okay~" She responded cheerfully. The monster on their radar was once again a fox.

"I'm going to attract the fox attention first. Alice, you attack later. Like when it's almost dead." Said Eight.

Eight punched the fox, which jumped on his in a reflex action. Yuna and Juliet rained projectiles, both physical and magical, on to their victim while Ken protected Alice.

When the fox's life dropped to one third, Alice took her aim. She had little experience of battles previously in virtual reality games, but she was acquainted with real archery. Plus, her strength could be compare to a level 6 knight since she had struck the scarecrow tens of thousand times . The iron bow drew a shiny-white trace in the air in a fraction of second. Her sharp eyes followed the fox movement. Then, she released the arrow.

CRITICAL HIT!

________________

A message window that was visible only to Alice popped up. Critical hit!

That only appeared when the damage was doubled as a result of an effective attack, the outcome of exquisite timing. The arrow pierced through the fox heart and disappeared in a flash. It dropped two items. A fox pelt and meat.

You can turn meat to steaks by cooking on a bonfire, and fox pelt is one of the most widely used materials for clothes. This kind of production process requires related skills. Newbies rarely learn such skills as cooking and tailoring. It is more often than not that these items are destined to end up on a shelf in the nearest grocery store. However, Alice had learned those skill in advance.

"Great move! You were lucky this time."

Grinning, Ken collected the items.

Yuna and Juliet, who had been casting the most powerful spells in case of a counterattack, were delighted by their new teammate's success.
