As Tre and Jesse reached the tree line first, the one recognized as Mark, caught them in his sight. “Hey little help guys?” He yelled out.
“We got ya!” Destinee said following behind Tre and Jesse. She immediately aimed her gun and shot two away from the guy with many tattoos. Mike and JR helped the taller fight back a couple. Tre and Jesse immediately made it to Marks side and shooting and hacking away a few corpses.
“I’m running out of ammo!” Destinee yelled out. The guy with tattoos whipped his machete around as Destinee ducked reloading, beheadeding two zombies nearing her.
“There’s just too many!” Mike said heaving a body backwards to the ground with the side of his gun.
“Tom! You got any flash grenades left?” Mark yelled out looking toward Mike and JR. Tom Kicked a zombie back and JR shot it in the head. He turned.
“Fresh out man! I used the last one earlier!”
“Dammit,” Mark said only loud enough for Jesse and Tre to hear.
“We have to get back to the van! Come on guys!” Jesse yelled out gesturing toward the road.
“Tom! Travis!” Mark yelled before gesturing them to follow. Everyone gave a last push to the zombies they were dealing with and ran. Each making it out of the wood line and running up the ditch. JR slipped but Mark ran from behind her helping her up. Jesse quickly grabbed her hand pulling. As the jumped the guard rail Bethan slid the van door open.
“Oh my god,” her eyes widened, “Hurry you guys!” as soon as each person jumped in Jay slammed on the gas and Bethan shut the door.
“What the hell happened to no tag alongs?” Billie questioned looking at Jesse angered. The fighters were panting.
“It was just to escape!” JR said between pants.
“How do we know they haven’t been bitten?” He yelled to her gesturing his hand to the three boys.
“Have you guys been bit?” Jay said looking in the rearview mirror as she drove.
“No ma’am,” Mark replied.
“No Billie, they haven’t,” Jay said sounding rather pleased. “What’s your names?” she put her eyes back to the road.
“I’m Mark.”
“I’m Travis.”
“Sup I’m Tom.” They each raised a hand as they said their name.
“Cool! I’m Jay. The dick is Billie-“
“No need to get acquainted Jay,” Billie cut her off. He turned his head to the boys. “They’re not gonna be with us long. We can’t keep up any more people.” Bethan hit as his chest.
“Oh no, were not looking for a handout. It’s totally understandable. We actually have a safe house not too far from here. You can actually let us out at the dirt path. It’s 10 miles ahead.” Mark said rubbing the sweat from his forehead.
“Our exit is five miles up, but we can drop you off and circle around,” Jesse said moving to the front seat.
“Oh, well do you guys need any supplies?” Tom asked sweetly.
“Got any gas?” Destinee asked from the back.
“Yes ma’am,” Tom turned his head to her. “We managed to get a huge tank stored.”
“That’s good, we could use a few gallons.” The boys smiled.
“Whatever you need!” Mark said, “You guys saved our asses and for that we are truly grateful,” he said pulling his hand to his heart. Billie just rolled his eyes.
