"Luke, please don't leave me. I'll do anything."
I shifted my weight onto my other foot. "You know I've wanted to travel with my band and perform for people. It's been my dream my entire life." Hayden looked down at the ground and nodded her head. I knew she was afraid of me leaving. That was her number one fear since the day that we met.
"But what about the baby?" Hayden said softly, looking me through her big green eyes. I could see she was on the verge of crying and she was trying her best to hold her tears in.
"I don't know what to do about the baby. The best thing to do is probably get rid of it before anyone finds out and then you wouldn't have to worry about it." I took my hands out of my coat pocket and took a step closer to Hayden. She looked so beautiful just standing there. I couldn't help but study her face one last time before saying goodbye.
"You would want me to do that to the baby? Our baby?" Her voice cracked at the end and her eyes were starting to fill with water. I had to leave before I started having second thoughts.
"Yes... Goodbye Hayden." I kissed her lightly on the forehead before locking eyes with her. I looked at her stomach one last time before turning around and walking away.
"But you promised!" she yelled as loud as she could, without her breaking down into tears.
I ignored her last statement and kept walking. I couldn't bring myself to look back at her. I knew she would be on the ground, crying.
A low grumble came from my throat as I woke up. I felt sick because of that dream, except the thing is, is that it wasn't really a dream. It was just my life replaying over and over in my head. That was the eleventh time I've had that same dream since I left.
It's been more than three years since the last time I saw her. I grabbed the bottle of beer on the nightstand that was left over from last night and chugged the rest of it. A pounding at my door made me jump and drop the bottle, which ended up shattering. I would have to make sure and thank whoever made me drop the bottle.
I strolled over to the door and looked through the little peephole and saw it was Michael. Of course it would be him.
"Luke, I know you're in there open up!" I pulled the door open and glared at Michael.
"What the fuck do you want?" I said sharply, as he pushed past me. His eyes scanned the entire room of my apartment like he was looking for something. He angrily walked over to the counter and grabbed the newspaper before walking back over to me.
"How about you tell me what the fuck this is!" he shouted shoving the newspaper in my face.
"It's the newspaper," I replied sarcastically. I took two steps away from him before he grabbed my arm and yanked me back to the place I was.
"Look what we have here, on the front page. You got into a fist fight at the bar and then got kicked out. It says here that you were almost arrested!"
"That was three days ago for fucks sake."
"Luke, are you doing this because of her?"
"Because of who!?" I shouted at him. My anger had spiked and I really wanted to punch him in the face.
"Hayden."
"Why are you even here? No one comes to visit me because no one gives a shit about me and you all know it." I pushed my fingers through my hair before crossing my arms.
"Let's just remember, you're the one who fucked this up for everyone. You blocked everyone out, your fans, your own bandmates, and even your own family. You've been getting drunk a lot and you've been depressed and you even-"
"I want you to leave," I blurted out, pointing to the door. "Now!"
"I came here, to California, all the way from Australia to tell you one thing and I'm not leaving until I tell you it," Michael declared, rubbing his temples.
"I want you to leave," I commanded, trying to hold in my anger. I walked over to the door and pulled it open. Michael sighed angrily and shook his head slightly.
"You can screw over your friends and family, but if there's one person I don't want you to screw over, it's your own daughter." I laughed and shook my head.
"I don't have a daughter, now I want you to go," I gestured my hand to the door and waited patiently.
"Try about three years ago with the girl you were in love with," Michael said before shutting the door.
