"Katja? Kat? Are you okay?"

When I awoke, I was strapped to a hospital bed. Two IV drips were coming out of both my arms, and pretty much all my movement was restricted. I hadn't the strength to move my head and my vision was blurry. I could very faintly see two women, who I had assumed were nurses. I was boiling hot and everything hurt. My head, my stomach, my arms and legs... I felt like physical death.

I couldn't remember anything, any memory I had was gone. It was like walking into a test you hadn't studied and looking down at the paper and knowing absolutely nothing, but far worse. I remembered no people, no places... Hell, I wasn't even able to remember how all this even happened.

"Hello? Are you awake? How many fingers am I holding up!?" One of the women were shouting at me and waving her fingers in my face.

"Her eyes are open, she isn't dead!" The other yelled. "Its a miracle!" I could see her running out the door in the corner of my eye. I could hear her yelling about how "everyones prayers had been answered!" or something. When she had come back in, a train of people had followed her. It was my family, but at the time, I hadn't a clue who these people were.

Six people. My mum, my dad, my two sisters, my brother, and my boyfriend from the time. They all ran over to the side of my bed and were yelling my name and asking me if I was okay. I didn't remember any of their names. I couldn't even remember my OWN name, for Gods sake!

A tall, thin woman with long brunette hair pushed through everyone beside the bed and took my hand. Her eyes were bright green and her face was quite fat, despite having a slim body. - my mother. Her name is Jenice. Jenice Williams. She buried her face into my hand and sobbed.

"Kat..." she whispered. "I thought we lost you.. I thought you were dead... We didn't think we'd ever see you again..." I remember the confusion of some random woman taking my hand and crying into it - I couldn't even move my hand away, I didn't have the strength.

Someone else pushed through the crowd. A boy this time, who was supposedly my boyfriend. His hair was blonde and slicked back and his eyes were a deep blue. He was a bit taller than me. The only other thing I can say about him, really, was he was beautiful!

"Katja! Are you okay?!"

I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out. I felt like my throat was completely paralyzed. I couldn't make a sound.

"Shhh..." One of the nurses whispered to me. "Don't speak. Don't strain yourself."

The door swung open. A doctor came storming in. By the look on his face, everyone knew it wasn't good news. He looked completely panicked. Like he had just seen a ghost. We all knew this was bad news...
