"Nurse!" The doctor panted. Sweat was hauling from his bald head. "Look!"
He handed to one of the nurses a notepad. The page it was opened on was filled with mathematical equasions and chemical signs. My name was written as the heading at the top of the page.
As the nurse was reading, her facial expressions were constantly changing. When she was finished, she looked completely terrified. "No... Is this all correct? No errors whatsoever?" The doctor shook his head, and everyone looked over at me in complete shock.
"What is it? Is she going to be okay?!" My dad was freaking out. "Is she hurt, is she going to die?"
"After we were done the brain scan, we saw some things that weren't... Well, normal." the doctor explained. "We saw something in the very centre of the brain. It's completely neon green, which, obviously, is not okay. It's too deep into the centre of the brain to remove. To attempt to preform surgery on it would certainly kill her."
"Am I going to be okay?" My desperate attempt to speak came out in a screech. I could barely understand myself.
"You'll be fine." the doctor reassured us. "Well... In a sense. This particular part of the brain that was severely affected should be weakening and slowly killing you. Actually, the exact opposite is happening... You may find that you may not be the same as you used to."
"What's going to happen to her?" My mum stepped forward. She was completely perplexed.
"You may find she'll be a lot more... Well... I don't know how to put this... Her brain is getting stronger and stronger. The average human uses about 10% of their brain. Right now, she's on 70%. The number will keep increasing. She's going to be sent to the SOSS in northern America."
"And SOSS stands for...?" I whispered. I couldn't bring myself to speak.
"School Of Supernatural Studies. You're going to meet people suffering similar problems and sort out your lives together. Don't worry, you can still stay in touch with your family and your boyfriend... Um..." The nurse looked over at him.
"My name is Wyatt."
Hm. Wyatt. No memories coming back to me.
"Okay." The nurse smiled at him.
"Wait, so... We can't go with her?" my dad asked. He obviously wasn't okay with the idea of me heading away after suffering from amnesia.
"Well, it would be very expensive. The SOSS is situated in a very rich town. It would cost a fortune for even one of you to go, and trust me, we are most certainly not paying for Katja!" The nurse laughed. "But, in the end, it's up to you."
Mum gulped. "She's going. We'll do whatever it takes."
