The Sacred Books: Book 1, Îñçëñdø Mâsîfíçæ

Chapter 1

I swam along the shores of Jã£āîshíå uneasily. The book of fire, Îñçëñdø Mâsîfíçæ had been stolen two days ago. We can only hope that it falls into the right hands...

"Princess! Princess!"

I turned my head towards the noise. I smiled. It was Sáläídä, my little sister.

"Thou must know that thou may call me by mine name, Sáläídä."

She beamed at me. "I know, Sister. Mother asked for your presence in the throne room."

I nodded and swam towards the throne room while waving her goodbye. Once I reached the shore near the throne room, I turned back into my human form. I sighed in contentment and shook the water from my hair. And from there, I entered the throne room.

The throne room, obviously, is made for the monarchs, who are also my parents.

A bugle sounded. "Announcing the arrival of the first princess of Jã£āîshíå, Princess Jêzébē£îñçãñīå."

The king and queen looked up from the books they were reading and smiled at me.

"Daughter," the king said in a booming voice, "As you know, Îñçëñdø Mâsîfíçæ had been stolen two days ago. We have found out more about it..."

At that, the queen stood up and said, "This is a private council, may all the guards leave the throne room."

"But, your highness the queen, how else may we guard you?"

"You can place guards outside the throne room. This is a matter of great importance and we cannot risk anyone overhearing."

The captain in question nodded curtly and brought his guards out of the room.

Once they were all outside, the queen gave me the news.

"You see, my dear Jêzébē£, the book of fire wasn't stolen, it had found it's rightful owner. And now, you must find the owner and bring him back to us, for he is to be future king.

"Queen Mâbë, why? I mean, why me? Why not, say, one of the guards or another princess?"

"Jêzébē£, you see, I had to go on a similar quest. You see, the one-who-is-the-owner-of-a-sacred-book shall be the heir's spouse. I was on a quest for your father, and I found him. The owner of the book of water, Ãqùálíqûå Mâsîfíçæ."

"But I've always thought that Father was a natural mer! How can this be?"

"This is a family secret. It is a tradition of the royals of Jã£āîshíå. And now, speak no more. The book of fire is not in our hands anymore and many will seek for the boy to take control of him. You must find him first."

"Mother, how may I find him?"

The king and queen looked at each other.

"Um...well, the thing is, you never know."

"WHAT?!!?"

The king and queen walked towards me and gestured for me to sit down.

"You must go to the Øræçlē."

I sat there in shock. The Øræçlē?!!? No one goes to her unless they are absolutely desperate! You must make a deal with her for her powers and somehow, you ALWAYS get the short end of the deal.

I stalked out of the throne in despair and anger. How could they do this to me?!!? To me! The princess and heir of Jã£āîshíå?!!? But I know...in the end I must go. No princess or queen may rule without the presence of a prince or king by her side. It's the royal rule.

I slowly walked along the stone path. The ocean was straight ahead and I wanted to go for a swim. The layout of Mêrmälãīr was very unique. Mêrmälãīr is another dimension altogether. There are a total of five dimensions. Êärthå, Mêrmälãīr, Fōwl£ïdíå, Âmīlïçã, and Mystêrïå.

Êärthå is also known as Earth by its people. The humans dominate there. If any of the creatures of the other four dimensions enter earth, and stay there for three years, they will turn into a creature of Êärthå, either their soul creature or a human.

Mêrmälãīr is dominated by the water folks, the mer people. There are natural and unnatural mer, the unnatural being creatures of other dimensions that somehow found an entrance to our dimension. Unless mated to a royal, unnatural mers no powers.

Fōwl£ïdíå is dominated by creatures of the air, such as birds. Humans who accidentally stumble into Fōwl£ïdíå mistaken it for their heaven but, it is actually not.

Âmīlïçã is dominated by creatures of the earth, such as tigers. It is the most dangerous of all five dimensions, as there is no order in this dimension. Any foreign creatures found in this dimension are killed and eaten.

Mystêrïå...It is the dimension most unknown by the four dimensions. The humans consider it heaven, the mer people think it is home to Neptune, the god of the sea. The fowls think it is home to the four great winds and, as the animals have no opinion, we do not know what they think it is.

My mate will most likely be in the dimension Êärthå, the human world.
