I slowly open my eyes and I can see I’m in Jenna’s living room still. I sit up and see they’re all sitting staring at me. I look at Jenna, “Did it work? Should I go…you know, die?”

I see I’m wearing a black gown and my hair is down. Jenna smiles and hands me a mirror, “Here.”

I look at my reflection and see my eyes are a beautiful gold. I look at my hair; it’s at least five inches longer. It’s down to my behind and it’s silky and straight. I can see that my skin is paler and perfect. I feel like a new person and I can smell, everything.

I look at Jenna, “How is anyone going to believe I killed myself if I look so different?”

Jenna laughs, “Silly you’ve already killed yourself…or yeah whatever.”

“Huh?”

Kaine smiles, “When you gave us one last drink you didn’t realize that by doing so we almost killed you. Jenna used that moment to turn you. You become a vampire by drinking a vampire’s blood.”

“You were so low on blood and hadn’t changed completely that it gave us enough time to fake your death and get you buried.”

I look at them surprised, “Wait…what about Paul? What about his family?”

Jenna puts a hand on my lap, “Look.”

I look into her eyes and am suddenly at the house. I can see Kaine holding my dead body, a knife is sticking out of my chest. Kaine looks at Jenna who places the letter on my bed and then Paul’s on the floor. Jenna climbs out the window and disappears, and Kaine throws my body on the ground. I can hear the thud arousing Paul from his bedroom. Kaine jumps out of the window and disappears as well, I don’t understand it but I can hear Paul knocking. His sweet voice asks, “Nat? You okay? What was that thud?”

Paul doesn’t hear a response and jiggles the door knob. I hear him run and get his dad. Frank calls into the room, “Natalie? Are you okay honey? Please open the door!”

Frank harshly pushes on the door. I want to open it for them but suddenly Frank’s foot kicks the door open. Frank freezes, “OH MY GOD!”

Frank runs to the phone and dials 911, I watch Paul stand and stare at my body. He runs to me and cradles me, “NATALIE! NATALIE!”

I can feel myself crying, Paul continues to scream my name when suddenly it vanishes into smoke and then I’m taken to the cemetery. I see the casket being lowered. I can see Kaine and Jenna crying together with Paul and his family I can see a lot of people came. The priest reads out some words that I will hold dear to my heart forever, “Natalie Parks was a bright and beautiful girl. She was as giving as she was kind. She often volunteered at the local nursing home and helped others in the neighborhood. After her parents death her grandmother passed soon after that. It is a tragedy that this young girl who was loved so much was in so much pain. The family in which she was staying with and the friends that saw her at school every day said she seemed as happy as could be. In her letter she asked that those who knew her and loved her to not cry but to be thankful for their lives. She will always be remembered in our hearts.”
