That one liner

Next day all I did was to find out from my dad as to how it all happened but there was no way out of this mess. My dad had lost every hope and my mom, she had been crying ever since she came to know it.

Life is unfair. No matter how hard and fair you play, once in life everybody has to fall in pit. They say it's ups and down but I feel it's Karma's  arrogance. She wants everyone to suffer her wrath atleast once.

"Don't worry mummy. We will altogether find something to do. Please don't cry like this. How will Ritika and Daddy feel, if they see you so broken. Please mummy ", I hugged her tightly and eventually started crying myself

My consoling skills sucks, I tell you. 2 out of 10

For once her sobs lowered and I moved to my room for getting ready. I had an interview today. My best friend Shikha had suggested me to take up a job as a lab assistant in her medical college where she worked in administration department . At that time, I wasn't ready to accept the offer but now I think it's required. I have to get this job now no matter what. Within few days, my dad will no longer have any role to play in his own company. And thereafter how things will work god knows...

Thanks destiny, how I wish to give you a flying kick 

I took my purse and cell phone before giving my self a last look in the mirror.

Driving through the streets of Delhi, I reached L. N Medical college. Like every other medical Institute, it also had white washed building. Inhaling a deep breath I walked inside

"Excuse me, Can you tell me where is the Principal's office? " I asked A young guy probably nineteen or twenty and he looked at me smiling . 

" Sure. Use the lift to second floor. The last room in the corridor is Princi's office " he said still smiling. There was something playful yet fishy about his smile like he's knew something

" Thanks " I murmured still unsure about his secretive smile and left.

I knocked softly at the door. Before I go inside, I prayed the almighty to help me through this. Being my Daddy's girl and mummy's baby I never really had to face anything on my own so today was definitely a big day

"Come in " a over the top manly voice came from inside

Chal beta Kanika its question answer time. Let's face the baldy

As I entered, much to my surprise the principal was actually bald. And I tell you guys Baldies really give me chills
. They give that huff huff feeling you know

"Are you Ms Kanika Malhotra? " he asked

No am her doppelganger, you see the real Kanika got scared seeing your barren top floor. You freaked her out baldy

" Yes Sir " my voice came out like a nursery school kid

" Please sit "

Sitting across him I politely handed him over my CV. He like a typical college principal started to study it making cold sweats form on my forehead. Okay now its not that am scared of him but these bald people really freak me out.. like really I mean
" Well I must say its interesting Miss Malhotra but what surprises me is you have not even completed your graduation and the school and college that you come from are both well known and you have scored well in all your exams so by the looks of it, it appears that you are in some hurry. You could just wait for your graduation before you look for a job, then may I know why have you applied for a lab assistant's job? "

I knew this was to come. Looking at my CV anyone would know that this lab assistant's job is not for me. But how do I tell him what a mess I was in.

" Look don't take me wrong I am trying to know more about you. Is there any problem that I should know? " he asked politely again

" Sir actually... "

" Not just any problem but many problem at once " A voice came from back

I felt my breath getting stuck in my throat. What was HE doing here? Is God really so angry on?  Please let him not be here. No, No, No

" Hello Mr. Kapoor. What a pleasant surprise. Please come. "

What The heck is going on here. How come baldy knows him.

Smoothly he walked to the chair beside me all the time looking straight at me. I don't know why I am so suddenly conscious of myself. I shift the dupatta around my neck trying not to show any emotion of surprise to him.

"It's been a long time since you last came Mr Kapoor. How is everything? " Baldy asked the nuthead

" All is good sir and today I just had some important things to talk to you " he said still looking at me

" Oh sure by the way this is Ms.... "

" Kanika Malhotra " he interrupted the principal before he could complete. I felt myself going red from embarrassment by the way his heated gaze were fixed at me. From the time he has entered he had been looking at me even while answering the principal. This man is seriously annoying.

I saw the principal giving us a questioning look

"Umm.. do you both each other? " he asked looking at Uday

Now I don't want Uday to say anything rubbish so I thought of answering instead but before I could say something a one liner shook the ground beneath me

" How come I will not know my WIFE TO BE?? "
