We had been walking forever. Well maybe it was more like an hour, but with the same landscape as far as the eye could see, it wasn’t terribly fun. Plus, I didn’t have the ability to Shift, as Mr. Wolf Man had forced me to swallow a vile solution that took my Shifting ability away and made me walk in my human form.

It. Was. Torture.

My human form was awkward and lanky. My arms were longer than my legs when I sat down and I walked like I was waddling. My hair was thick and soft, but sometimes it resembled a squirrel’s tail. Also, my eyes change colors when I Shift back to quickly, which I think it just awesome, and my lips are too full for my face. I guess you could say I was pretty, but I didn’t think I was overly beautiful.

“Hey, wolfy! Yoohoo!” The big, silver wolf beside me growled and turned toward me with agitation in his step. He gave me a look that said, “What do you want?”

“I would like to know if you could possibly let the solution wear off faster and let me Shift back. I really do despise my human form.” The wolf snorted and shook his head before turning away and walking on. Bastard.

“Hey!” I threw a medium sized rock at his retreating ass. “Don’t you walk away from me! After I left my remaining family behind to help you and your damn pack, you refuse to even give the time of day! You giant, wolf bastard!”

That was probably the worst thing to say.

Within seconds, I was thrown against the nearest tree with a heavy paw at the base of my throat. I could still breathe, but not naturally, my breaths were shallow and mostly through my nose. The wolf’s snout was curled back in a snarl and nestled itself next to my ear.

“Know your place, girl. I now control you. Get used to it. I will tell you what to do and you will do what I say. I am your Alpha and you will treat me as such.” His voice was low and eerily calm; it scared the shit out of me. He was shaking with anger and his eyes were ablaze with unreadable emotions. I nodded vigorously.

“Y-yes sir.” The wolf smirked, jeez that was unnerving, and loosened the grip on my throat.

“That sounded rather nice. No one has called me that before. Say it again.” Stupid, arrogant, pompous ass!

“Say what?” I said through grounded teeth. Reluctantly, I smothered the urge to spit in his face. He growled and thrust his paw back into my throat. His teeth were so close to my jugular…..

“Now are we going to be a good little girl or will I have to rip your head off and make this hard? Hmm?” The wolf chuckled darkly and began to nip at my throat, drawing little drips of blood. I gulped audibly before answering.

“I’ll be a good girl.” The wolf’s eyes darkened to pools of silvery lust and his smile looked sadistic. And cue the tingle down my spine.

“What was that, girl? I didn’t quite hear you.” My cheeks flamed and my eyes immediately shot to the ground. I knew what he wanted me to add. And I knew he knew I didn’t want to say it because that would be submitting myself to another Alpha. And when I did that, well let’s just say I would lose my Alpha status.
