One night

The mall was crowded today. I dont understand why people need to go to shopping malls on a weekday. Ok focus Emily.

"Let's go find that outfit babes" I said loudly trying to drown the noise of other shoppers as I link my arms with Tracy and Jose.

I literally had to drag Jose and Tracy to every shop that sells pretty dresses. Well just Tracy actually. Tracy hates shopping where else Jose was like my personal shopper. If I didn't know any better , I would have thought Jose was gay.

"Oh my gosh Ems, you should try this on" Jose squeals as he pulled a black one shoulder dress off the rack and pushed me into the changing room. Yeah a high pitch squeal. Tracy was no where in sight, probably sitting on the seats provided by the shop for bored boyfriends.

I hesitated slightly as i look at the size of the dress labeled on the tag, unsure whether it will fit but I tried it on anyways. Silently praying it will look good on me.

And it did. The dress fitted me like a second skin. It was simple and classy. Plus it wasn't short enough to make me feel like a skank.

"Come on girl, open up and show us." Tracy yells, sounding frustrated. I assume Jose must have dragged her back.

I opened up the door gingerly. A large smile plastering my face.

"Gorgeous Mia Moore, absolutely gorgeous" Jose murmurs. I could feel his eyes roam my body and it made me feel desirable. It meant nothing because I know he was smitten with Tracy but I knew he did it to make me feel sexy and I love him for it.

When your guy cheats on you, it can do some pretty good damage to your self esteem so I have to thank Jose for making me feel this way. Even when I know he can be slightly biased with me.

"Gee thanks for being subtle about it Jose.", I teased him while punching him lightly on the arm.

He just smiles sheepishly at me and was about to say something else before Tracy cut him off with a wave of her hand. The charm bracelet on her hand jingling as she do so.

"Please say we're done here. I'm starving" Tracy whines petulantly.

Times like these makes me wish that I didn't love her that much, maybe then can I finally smack her for being annoying.

"You need to set your prioritise straight wench. It's either me or food." I asked her with a dead panned look.

"Oh baby it will always be food and don't you dare tell me you wouldn't do the same.", she teased accusingly.

"Touché."

Lunch went by quickly and the 3 of us rushed back home to get ready for the big party. I had Jose send Tracy home much to her discomfort. That girl gets so tongue tied when she's alone with Jose it's ridiculous. It's like everybody knows they like each other except for them. Which is why I'm going to set my master plan in action tonight. I call it operation match-making. Tacky, yes, but it will work.

"Ems don't be crazy, you are not riding that death trap to the party". Tracy scolded me through the phone.

"Trace for the last time, I'll be fine. You and Jose can car pool and I'll meet you guys there. I'm not drinking much tonight and besides I miss riding Elliot." I retorted, trying to keep my voice impassive as I glance at the dress I had thrown on the bed.

That's not exactly a lie though. True, I just rode Elliot to and forth from the mall but Tracy was too dense to see that loophole. The more alone time Tracy and Jose have together, the more lightly my plan will work.
