Ethan and I decided to try out a diner popular with students near campus.

We looked like we were wearing couple outfits when in fact it was a total coincidence. Ethan was wearing a black v-neck with dark grey jeans while I was wearing a grey tank top with ripped black skinny jeans. At least it wasn't the tacky kind of outfits that many couples made the mistakes of doing.

The moment we step into the diner, all eyes were on us. Ok ok. All eyes was on Ethan. That guy is literally a chick magnet. Many women and even men there were giving him flirtatious smiles and me the stink eye. To say I wasn't jealous was an understatement. Ethan must have sense my mood change because he put his arms over my waist and pulled me close to his chest.

"Calm down baby. They got nothing on you." Ethan smirks knowingly. I feel a blush creep to my face. Dammit. I do not blush and I've been blushing ever since i found out Ethan Daniels exists.

The diner was well furnished with wooden floors and cream coloured walls. Making the ambience cosy and inviting. We decided to sit in a booth that was further away from the other customers.

"Good afternoon and welcome to Al's diner, what can I get for you." A middle age woman in a red uniform stood beside our table with a notepad in hand. Her presence was professional and her smile was sincere. A fresh change to the usual snotty waitresses.

"It's our first time here, is there anything you can recommend?" I piped up while flipping through the menu.

"Yes a matter of fact, our dinner serves the best chowders in town" she replied, her smile widening.

"I'll have the clam chowder then." Ethan speaks up as he closed his menu and sets it on the table.

"Make that two" I grinned, feeling excited to try out the clam chowder. "Oh and with the garlic bread sticks please."

"Sure no problem Miss." She jotted down my request on her notepad and proceeded to collect the menu cards.

"Thank you...." I squinted my eyes at her name tag. "Betty". I finished off my sentence with a stupid grin on my face.

The diner sold a hefty size clam chowder. It was delicious and the owner was kind enough to allow discounts for students. We complemented our chowder with warm garlic bread sticks. It was a heavenly combination.

"Eth aren't you bringing your sister around town?" I asked curiously. Surely, he would want to spend more time with his sister.

"I have Paul to do that for me. As much as I love my sister I don't want to be in the same room or the same car as the blonde she brought along." Ethan replied swiftly as he dip in a stick of garlic bread into the chowder.

"Is Ethan Daniels running away from an admirer?" I teased, laughing softly to myself.

Ethan was throwing me daggers as he replied " I just met her the day at the airport. I didn't like the way she was undressing me with her eyes". Ethan shuddered visibly as he pop the garlic bread into his mouth.

"Loverboy losing his mojo?" I questioned teasingly. Heck this guy got plenty of it to share around.

"Nah, I've never been interested in girls whom throw themselves at me. Besides I got you now." He winked as he sneakily try to take my share of the garlic bread.

I raised my eyebrows. 'Oh no you don't' I thought. I quickly swatted his hand away before stuffing it in my mouth.

"Don't steal food from a defenceless girl." I spoke with my mouth full. The words barely audible.

"Emily you are far from defenceless." Ethan smirked with an all-knowing look on his face. I told him about the incident with Fred (the pervert on the first day of school). Ethan couldn't stop laughing about it for days.
