"Liam?" the boy's voice floated through Liam's room. Niall, Liam's best friend since they were ten, arrived in the Beckham's mansion just in time for Liam to get ready for the concert that the boys had planned to attend. "I'm gonna be out in 3." yelled Liam from the bathroom. "Alright, man. Take your time." replied Niall.

The boys were supposed to attend a concert by a bloke named Zayn Malik. Liam only heard a few of his numbers before concluding him to be 'absolutely brilliant'. Niall being in the music industry himself, knew the guy personally and many a times had he mentioned to Liam that Zayn was interested in meeting him. Liam never really got to it, but with a week off from training, though he had decided to kick back and relax, he squeezed the show in. Just so he could experience the work of this genius with the mic, as he put it.

Liam had always been fond of singing. He never sang in public but every now and then, he would let Niall play his acoustic as he sang, gathering up some of his good friends to witness his clever usage of the voice he was gifted with. Needless to say, he had his dad's feet and his mum's tune. How blessed.

In his subconscious mind, he had grown fond of the idea of singing on stage, in front of a massive audience. He often made this scenario in his head, but let's admit it, we all have. Liam always dismissed the thought. He was a football player, he was destined to play for Manchester United, like his dad; He kept saying that to himself.

A smile spread across Niall's face as Liam came out wearing a black T-shirt and a pair of ripped blue jeans. He seemed to be overly excited to see Liam looking good. Liam couldn't quite put a finger on it.

"Ready to go,mate?" Niall asked.

"You bet." Liam answered, smiling brighter than ever. He was admittedly very excited.

The lads ran down the spiral stair case and sped towards the door. But before they could lay a foot outside, Mr. Beckham's deep, serious voice emerged in the background. "Liam..." he muttered, with so much seriousness, that Liam and Niall both froze in their tracks, feeling the air inside the room grow thicker.

For some reason, Liam was terrified at his father's sudden appearance. He was afraid he might stop him from going to the concert. He was also afraid he had heard, or with his dad instincts, knew something that Liam didn't and his father shouldn't.

Regardless, he looked back, obediently. "Yes,dad?".

A smile identical to Liam's foreshadowed on his face. The expression he previously wore was his 'I'm definitely a strict dad' impression, which he was never able to hold on to for long because he was anything but strict. "Be back before 12, alright boys?" said David.

"Yes,dad." Liam answered, respectfully. After a short pause, the father and the son burst into laughter. Then, David patted Liam and Niall on their backs, like a coach would to the players. "Have fun boys. Oh, and guess who's showing up at the after-party?" David put his thumbs in the air, pointing at himself.

"That's great, Mr. Beckham! See you there!" exclaimed Niall. The boys then raced towards Niall's Range Rover and hopped in.

"Nice goal at the Wembley's last Sunday, bro." Liam was always being informed about how good his goals were by his friend, and that day was no exception. With their conversation drifting from topic to topic, Niall found an opportunity to point out Liam's historical goal against Chelsea FC's U20 team a few days ago. That was pretty important for Liam, admittedly, for this caught the attention of Manchester United's main team's manager. Then again, he was a Beckham, every big team's attention were always on him. "Yeah well, what can I say, I was born a Beckham." Liam chuckled. "True that." Niall agreed. The boys drove in silence for most of the journey till they reached the venue about an hour early. The place was almost empty, except for a few early birds like these two showing up.

"Well, looks like we'll be chatting for a bit." said Liam. "I'm fine with that." answered his friend.

"So, have you told your mum about wanting to buy an acoustic?" asked Niall, curiously. A few weeks ago, Liam had mentioned that he was interested in learning how to play the acoustic guitar to Niall. The boy had been asking him about it ever since. "Umm.. I don't think it's a good time." he answered thoughtfully. "It's never a good time, my friend.". Just when Liam was about to open his mouth in protest to what Niall had said, a familiar voice was heard by Liam saying his last name. "Beckham?"

"Tomlinson, what are you doing here?!" exclaimed Liam to his teammate.

Behind him stood another lad that Liam had never seen. He was quite tall, and well, he had a rather feminine outlook with his thin waist and long hair reaching up to his upper back. The wore a white V-neck shirt and a Mick Jaggerish (if that's a thing) jacket over it. His jeans were extremely tight. Liam wondered if he had trouble breathing.

"Last time I checked, I was waiting to get into the concert as you." answered Louis Tomlinson, a small yet well built lad with brunette hair. "Aye, I didn't know you liked the artist." said Liam, surprised.

"Well, I was invited by the dude himself." Louis muttered, dragging the 'l' in 'well'.

"Fair enough, Niall and I were invited too." Liam pointed at Niall, who seemed to be too interested in the lad behind Louis. Liam was sure he was staring at his jacket.

"Who's this, though?" Niall finally asked Louis.

"Oh him? That's Harry, my boyfriend." said Tomlinson, grinning at the word boyfriend. Liam and Niall looked at each other. Couldn't help but realize their height difference and that they in fact did look like a couple, ripped straight out of a page of some chick-lit gay romance story. Liam looked at Tomlinson again.

"Congrats, man. Say, I didn't know you were into lads. Remind me not to change around you next time." the boys smirked at each other and jokingly, Louis shoved Liam's arm.

"Don't worry man, I don't like men who sing Britney anyway. I'm more of Rolling Stones kinda guy, in case you didn't notice." Louis looked at Harry a little and smiled at him. Harry seemed to be engulfed in looking down to his golden shiny boots, though.

"But for real, dude, don't mention this to the other lads, okay?" pleadingly, Louis asked.

"Of course. Hey, do your parents know?" Liam asked, somewhat wonderingly.

"'Course they do. Can't hide stuffs from family, y'know?" Louis replied, as he walked towards his boyfriend and held his hand. Liam nodded in agreement as Louis and Harry both waved at them, yelling "see ya" in unison. Typical.
