Playing Pretty- Little-Doe-Kisses
SUMMARY:
I gave him a sardonic twist of my lips.
"You can't convince a girl she's pretty."
He grabbed me, pulled me against him. He forced my hand down, feeling the bulge in his pants.
"This isn't from the pizza boy, darling."
I tugged on my arm, tried to pull away. He squeezed tightly. I winced. His other hand wrapped around my neck, applying pressure, hauling me closer. I closed my eyes, seeing the stars again.
I was almost there, so close to the stars. He let me go suddenly.
"I don't fuck ugly girls."
^^^
It was only a picture. Innocent, something for a school project. But it changed her life.
She would feel metal, taste blood, see stars.
He never let her go, though. She would reach for the stars, but he never let her get them.
He liked her. He didn't want her to go, whether it was home, or to the stars.
He wouldn't let her go.

INTERVIEW WITH Little-Doe-Kisses
1. What inspired you to write this book?
Well, I guess what inspired me was I wanted to shock people. I wanted to have a story that left people breathless and questioning their sanity and in a state where they couldn't think immediately after they ended the book.
2. Is this book based on any real life events?
I guess you could say it is. Sex trafficking is a thing that happens, but this isn't based off anything that has happened personally to me or anything I've experienced/read about.
3. What music (if any) did you listen to while writing this book?
There were a few main songs I listened to while writing this. The big one was 'Luca' by Brand New, and I incorporated that one into the story. Another one was 'Handcuffs,' also by Brand New. The third was actually a TV show soundtrack: the song 'Aliyah' from the NCIS music score.
4. Did you fall in love/hate any of the characters that you created?
I most definitely fell in love with Bleu. She was such a powerful character in my opinion. It's really her story being told, simply through Cherry's POV. She is a strong character, able to adapt and keep her sanity and survive a place meant to break and eventually kill a person. Everyone else goes crazy there, but not her.
I also really liked the character of Enzo. Yes, he was insane, but he was such a complex character that it was fun to write him. His insanity was, I thought, elegant. Instead of running around waving knives and laughing maniacally, he was eloquent and graceful with his insanity. It was enjoyable to write.
5. What advice would you give to an aspiring writer?
The advice I would give... okay, um, well... Just go for it. All your first books, you're gonna love them when you write them, and that's good. But then you'll grow up and get better, and look back and realize those books, while they are your loves, are not your best work, and hopefully it'll inspire you to write more and write better. And, while it's fun for people to acknowledge and complement our work, write for yourself. Screw what anyone else wants or thinks. At the end of the day, your stories are yours, and you should create them entirely for you.
6. Would you be open to people asking you to read their books?
I'm open to being asked, but I'm an EXTREMELY picky reader, so there's probably a 95% I won't actually read it. That's just the way I am. Sorry, babes.
7. Is there anything that you feel that readers should know about you or the book?
Anything I want people to know about the book... IT'S NOT A LOVE STORY. I think people start reading it thinking it's going to be a BDSM-based love story. There is no BDSM, and there is no love story. Please don't confuse the abuse Cherry suffers with BDSM or any sort of love on Enzo's part. BDSM is not abuse, and abuse is not love.
About me... well... I'm a total nerd (shhh, it's my big secret) especially about- ready? Here it goes... Star Wars. Like, seriously.

MY THOUGHTs-
This book was an emotional one. At first I thought it was going to be cliché and that Enzo and Cherry were going to fall in love and that he was going to let her go, and then she would come back to her... um no, that is Not how it ended. This book is going to shock you and make you want to cry, so just be prepared. Other than that it is an amazing book, by an amazing author, and person. I love Robin, ( Little-Doe-Kisses) but I just want to make it clear that, that is not the reason that I wanted her book to be a part of this. I hold the books that I put in this suggestion book to a very high standard, one of which Playing Pretty meets. On that note, read the book, you'll enjoy it once you can understand your own emotions about it. I suggest you read it twice for your own benefit.
