Anne was utterly disappointed, to say the least, that the class was moving seats in her English class. She had been sitting in a group with her friends Katelyn and Isabella and her crush, Charley. It was safe to say she was loving life. Sitting with those terrible goofballs was the only thing that helped her cope with having to sit for an hour or so listening to her most hated teacher Ms. Crook. Even her name was awful. Usually, learning English Language Arts enthralled Anne, but because of Crook's horrid teaching methods, it disgusts her.

And now Anne is standing next to her friends with her books in her hands waiting to see where she has been relocated to.

"Tanner," the Crook calls out, placing her hand on a desk in a group right beside the teacher's desk. Anne is only acquaintances with Tanner; he is nice but obnoxious. He is also bisexual, which everyone in the school knows.

"Anna," Anna has always seemed stuck up to Anne, but she tries not to judge her too harshly because she is nice enough.

"Kylie," Kylie is not someone you want to sit with. She has strong opinions and false knowledge and a whole lot of issues that she is very willing to tell you about.

"Grace," Anne has gone to school with Grace since sixth grade. Back then Grace was nice and had glasses and super short hair. Now, in ninth grade, she is portrayed as a smart bitch who does a lot of drugs. Anne notices how beautiful Grace is; she has dyed, orange-red, curly hair and freckles scattered across her face and perfect white teeth and an amazing sense of style. Grace, Tanner, and Anna seem to be friends by the way they start into conversation as soon they are seated.

"Anne," Ms. Crook calls, waking Anne from her trance and placing her hand on the desk beside Grace's.

"Oh, rats! Why did I put Anna and Anne at a table together? That is not going to help me in the grand scheme of things," Ms. Crook mutters before shrugging her shoulders and moving on.

Anne makes her way over to her new seat. Her table mates smile up at her and Anne smiles back shyly. How the tables are set up, Anne is sat across from Tanner, adjacent to Grace, and diagonal to Anna. Kylie is sat at the end by herself and nobody complains about it.

"Hi," Anne says a bit shyly when she sits down. Everyone introduces themselves and Anne finds Grace's name lingering in her mind, as if it is calling to her. She can't tell if this is good or bad but she tries not to think too much into it.

Anne is too focused on Grace to realize that everyone is moaning about how much they hate having to sit with Kylie, even though Kylie is most likely listening to every word they say.

Then, Anne finds herself trapped in a conversation with Grace about school and people and life. Anne also finds herself hanging onto every word that comes out of this girl's mouth. Anne admires Grace because of the way she talks and laughs and Anne so desperately needs to be friends with her.

Okay, I need to know if this length is good because I can most definitely write longer chapters, but if I'm writing them this short I will update more often :-)
