Chapter Fifteen

Chapter Fifteen

 I woke up with a killer headache...

  "Oww..."  I heard a gasp next to me.

  "Zeek, are you okay?"  It was Luke... That's when everything came rushing back to me.

  "Yeah, my head is just killing me...  Is Austen here?"

   "No, you were only out for a few minutes, but I don't know what class he's in... I can go get him if you want me to?"

  "Mr. Stevens.  Please don't tell him why I'm here... Just say I fell.. Please?"  He sighed and nodded, leaving the room, only to bring back a panicked Austen.

  "Zeek!  Are you okay?"  He rushed to my bedside and pulled me into a hug.  

  "I'm fine."

  "Luke said you tripped and hit your head?"  I gave Luke a thankful look.

  "Yeah."  Austen turned and gave Luke a look, which made him nod and leave the room.

  "Now tell me what really happened."

  "What do you mean?"

  "Zeek, I can tell you're lying.  Who did this to you?"

  "Nobody... I just tripped."  I looked down, only to have my face be pulled up by Austen.

  "Zeek.  Please tell me."  I sighed.

  "Gabe.  After you left he called me a faggot and a fairy and then he grabbed me when I tried walking away and...pushed me."  I left out his threat towards Austen.

  "And...I can tell there's more you aren't telling me..."

  "He told me to tell you if he sees you in the locker room again he was going to 'personally punish you'.  I'm sorry..."  He held my face in his hands and kissed me softly.

  "Don't worry about it."

  "Please don't say anything though?"  

  "I won't.  But I will if it gets worse, okay?"  I nodded and he kissed me again.

  "What about you?  Anything happen?"

  "Just a few comments."

  "Can we leave now?"  I begged him.

  "How 'bout I stay here with you until the end of first period, since we have the rest of our classes together anyways."

  "Kay."  I moved over on the nurse's cot and pulled him toward me.  "Lay down with me."  He smiled and climbed into the bed next to me, wrapping his arms around me like normal.

  "I love you so much." He kissed my forehead.

  "Love you too Austen."  It stayed silent for a few more minutes until I spoke again.  "Austen, I want your help in something.  Something that is going to be very difficult and possibly dangerous.  Will you help me?"  I looked up at him and he gave me a confused look.

  "What?"

  "Well you know how I've been setting people up together lately?  Naomi and Jack and Weston and Shane?"

  "Yea...  What about it?"

  "Well, there's a new person I want to help, but it's gonna be hard... I want you to help me."
