*Nicole and her family go camping in a trailer for a month or so every summer at a campground called Driftwood.
Nicole's POV
Splash! Water droplets appeared on the crisp pages of my new book and I was rather annoyed. I knew I was bound to get wet at the pool, but seriously, did you need to jump that close to me? I casually looked through my sunglasses to catch a glimpse of the culprit.
Well there goes me getting back to my reading because my suspect just so happens to be a super attractive guy. He has long, flowing, blonde hair and rippling muscles. As he pushed himself out of the pool, small water droplets formed on his tan skin and his muscles flexed ever so nicely. He stood up and combed his hair back with his hand.
He looked to be about 16 or 17. He had a guilty look on his face and I saw him smirk at me.
I stood up from my lounge chair, ideally located in the corner of the pool area, and stared in disbelief. This had to be a trick. He did not just smirk at me with those soft lips and cute dimples...I had to be seeing things. I felt my legs move and they were taking me straight towards him. I couldn't stop.
Then, just before I could do anything stupid, my mom called to me and told me it was time for lunch. My daze was broken, so I gathered all of my things and started walking towards my campsite. I opened the gate and glimpsed behind me to find him smiling straight at me. I proceeded to walk away, but I could feel his eyes staring at me, watching my every move.
Who is this guy? I wondered. And why did he splash me?

-Later In Nicole's Trailer
I stepped out of the shower and looked at myself in the mirror to examine all of my features. I love my eyes the most, but I hate having to wear my glasses for distance. I wish that I had contacts. My hair always looks the same boring way. I'm not beautiful...but I'm not ugly, I'm just average. That is all I'll ever be.
I went over to my bunk bed and grabbed my duffle bag that was filled with clothes. I took out a pair of navy blue jean shorts and a violet shirt with ruffles along the chest. I got dressed, sprayed on my favorite perfume, and dried my hair. "I'm not ready to leave yet. I can't go to the dance, what if he talks to me?!"
I flopped down on the bed and then rolled onto my back. I looked up at the ceiling and breathed deeply. My chest rose up and down, up and down. I closed my eyes for a brief moment.

"Hey, Sleepyhead! Wake up!" My best friend, Taylor, was shaking me. I opened my eyes and she was towering over me. She was wearing a teal short-sleeved shirt with lace and white shorts. Her blonde hair was tied back in a French braid and it reached her waist. She stared down at me with her pretty ocean blue eyes that I envied and then laughed. She has been my best friend for my entire life. I love her to pieces and I know that she'll always be there for me. She is smart, pretty, and very friendly. Unlike me, she is very social and will talk to anybody.
Her family goes camping at the same campground that mine has for the past 10 years. We met here when we were little girls. I was on the swings in the playground, which is adjacent to the pool. She had come running up to me and had asked if I wanted to play with her, and ever since then, we have become really close friends.
"What time is it?! How long have I been asleep for? Is the dance over?" I shouted, remembering that the barn dance was tonight.
Taylor giggled. "Nah. Calm down, there are still 7 minutes before the dance begins. That gives us plenty of time. I came over here because you weren't answering your phone and it's a good thing I did," she chuckled and smiled a wide smile at me. "C'mon, let's go! Deejay Donny is here tonight and I want to try to get his number!"
