The Wolf Girl
Chapter One
I walked into the kitchen, late as usual and leaned against the island.
"Ya'll ready to go?" I asked my brothers Liam and Callum.
"Yeah hold up." Liam mumbled. Callum grunted groggily and the two shuffled out of their seats to get their things.
"Madison." My mom groaned in a scolding tone. "Would it kill you to wear something feminine once in a while?"
I gasped in mock horror. "Mother!" I accused in a deadpanning voice. "I am wearing feminine clothing. I'll have you know I got these in the women's aisle when I shopped at Walmart."
My mom rolled her eyes at me but smiled. "You know what I mean."
I shrugged. "Yeah."
"Mads lets go." Liam calls from the foyer.
"That's my cue." I say as I grab an apple from the islands fruit bowl. "See you later mom, tell dad I said morning. Later guys."
I wave to my three older brothers Brandon, Allen and Ethan who had been eating quietly at the table.
"Wait!" My mom shouts. "Madison you haven't had breakfast."
I don't turn around to tell her that I don't need anything. "Got my apple mom!" Is all I say.
"Okay, let's go." I say to Liam and Callum as I meet them in the foyer. I grab my keys from the hall counter and we head outside.
The air was chilly outdoors. I felt the cold breeze touch my skin but my body keeps its warmth, I didn't even shiver.
One of the perks of being a supernatural being.
I smirked to myself as my brothers and I hopped into my car. It was a black Jeep with fender that curved inward.
"God I just want to stay home and sleep." Callum whines with a groan. "Who invented school anyway? Can we run him over?"
I snort. "Tell me about it."
----
Turns out school wasn't so bad after all. I got through my first few classes with little to no trouble. Hallways were a breeze to get through so I wasn't late for any of them and by the time I knew it, lunch rolled around.
I had this nagging feeling though, like something was going to happen but I didn't know what. I tried shaking it off throughout the day but to no amends so I decided to just ignore it. They were probably just first day jitters.
Only they weren't. As I made my way to the cafeteria, I decided to stop by my locker to put away a few things. I pushed the locker door shut when I was done and heard the soft reassurance of it locking.
I turned and heard muffled voices down the hall, I glanced up and saw a classroom door open and the voices got clearer.
I didn't think anything from it at first so I started walking toward the cafeteria, but the sound of someone's voice caught me off guard. I stopped as my nose twitched, smelling something that made me think twice about walking away.
I turned back toward the voices just as they got out.
"Yes Mr. Pacer." A boy said as he exited the classroom. "I'll make sure to do it."
My breath caught in my throat and I clutched the straps of my bag. I tried tearing my eyes away from him but I found no will to. My heart raced and I could almost feel my eyes glowing.
My wolf was stirring.
"Great." A teacher followed him out. "I hope to see it on my desk tomorrow."
"Of course." He answered.
He was standing there, casually but it was adorably sexy. He wore a loose grey v-neck shirt that outlined his muscles and dark jeans with the Levi brand name on the belt line in the back along with a pair of white Chuck Taylor's.
It was simple so why did it make the blood rush to my head as if I were hanging upside down?
I swooned when I caught a glimpse of his moss green eyes aligned with his soft dark hair. His mouth parted perfectly as he spoke to the teacher.
The nagging feeling went away and was replaced with a sea of emotions. My wolfs emotions. She wanted him. Bad.
And that's when I felt the pull. That was him, my mate.
Mine, my wolf purred.
I blinked in surprise. That's why I feel this way then? Because he's my mate?
I rubbed sorely at my chest from the foreign feeling of need and saw that he had caught me staring. The teacher was long gone and it was the two of us standing a mere 20 feet apart.
It felt like miles.
His eyes captivated me, expressing his suspicion and curiousness.
I blushed in agony, embarrassed to be caught by him. I took a step back in instinct and ripped my gaze from him, walking quickly to the cafeteria.
God! I whined, mentally face palming myself as I walked away. I bet he thinks I'm a freak now!
