"Can I?"

Maddie barely had to think. "Yes," she breathed.

Luke lazily and seductuvely unbuttoned her shirt and slid it off, leaving her in just jeans and her bra.

Maddie wanted this; she knew she did.

Luke's beautiful blue eyes searched hers before he leaned down for a tender kiss.

He pulled back and studied her for a moment.

"We wouldn't want to ruin the jewelry," he whispered, his husky voice sending goosebumps to the surface of Maddie's ivory skin.

He gently tugged off her necklace.

In that split second, the emerald stone of Maddie's purity ring caught her eye.

Chastity. Abstinence. No sex until marriage.

That was what she'd promised. That was what her mother's former ring signified.

But a purity ring didn't carry much meaning when Luke Parkin was pulling it off with his teeth.

Madelyn Rainey Parker was born four months premature. With under grown legs and arms, her doctors feared that she would be permanently paralyzed and unable to move neither her legs nor her arms. For the first six months of her life, Maddie had lived with an oxygen tank connected to her.

Now, at seventeen years old, Madelyn Abeley Parker is what doctors called a medical amazement.

Maddie stood at 5'0" and weighed 97 lbs. She had unusually long sun bleached blonde hair and green eyes; rosy cheeks and a small frame. She was short for her age, but her and her best friend Penelope Caden Gregory were getting along just fine.

That is, until Luke Skyler Parkin showed up.
