Chapter 1

"Izzy, if you don't wake up now, I'm gonna have to go and get Micheal!" I faintly hear my best friend, Katy, yell.

"Ten more minutes," I mumble and throw a pillow at her.

"Alright, if that's the way it has to be, I'm gonna go get and get him," she says and I hear her start to walk away.

"No, I'm up now!" I shout and bolt straight up in bed. "No need to get Micheal," I say and find Katy's big chocolate brown eyes that are lightly made up gazing at me.

"That's what I thought," she says and smirks at me. I ignore her and look around the plain hotel room. Same as every other hotel I've ever stayed in. Plain white walls, bathroom, tiny microwave area, two big beds in the middle of the room, and a small T.V.

"Ugh, I hate hotels," I murmer, talking more to myself than to Katy.

"Which is why you need to get your lazy butt up and get ready so we can finally go out on the town. It's my first time being here, you know," she says pouting playfully. I grin at her and tug on her long light brown hair which is pulled into a high ponytail. Her hair always looks good but for some reason I feel like I don't look good with ponytails.

"Okay, okay, I'm getting up now, calm down," I say, putting my hands up in surrender. I rub the sleep from my eyes and get up out of bed. Ignoring Katy yelling  "Make sure you hurry!" I walk into the bathroom and turn on the shower and adjust it to the perfect temperature. When it's just right I undress and step in. After fifteen minutes I hear Katy banging on the door. "Would you hurry up?! I wanna go out now!" I turn the shower off, step out, and dry off. I glance at my watch that I set on the counter before getting in. "Oh, calm down, Katy, it's only nine. We have all day," I say to her.

"I know, but I just wanna get an early start," she whines from the other side of the door.

"I'm almost done," I say, dressing in black skinny jeans and a black low-cut tank top. I blow dry my long straight black hair and then run a brush through it. I brush my teeth and then look at myself in the mirror and decide it's time to focus on makeup. I outline my bright green eyes with dark eyeliner and then put on dark eyeshadow and then mascara and  finish adding sparkly lip gloss to my lips. Satisfied with my look, I open the door and almost run into Katy, who is pacing back and forth right in front of the door. She turns to look at me and plants her hands on her hips and takes in my outfit and made up face. "Ooh, pretty, can we go now?" she says impatiently.

"Yes, we can go now," I say, grabbing my purse and checking before we left the room that it contained my money, lip gloss, my iPod, a book, and my glasses so I could actually read the book. I hated wearing my glasses so I was glad I only had to do it when I was reading. I walked out of the room to find Katy tapping her foot. I swear sometimes she looked a lot younger than she really was, which was eighteen, like me. She started pulling on my hand and dragged me down the street.

"Wait a minute! We have to wake the others," I realize.

"Ugh, just leave 'em a note," she says, scowling.

"Pen and paper?" I ask, holding my hand out. She reaches into her purse and pulls out a mini notebook and a pen. Sometimes I think her purse is endless. No matter what you need you can just ask Katy and she'll reach in her purse and voila, there it is. "Thanks," I say, smiling at her and start writing.
