The music was blaring to where we could hear it just standing outside the club. It was around 10 pm and it had just gotten dark. It was a big building. Not tall, but in length it was HUGE. There was a big sign on the top that said Nightlife Unleashed in all capital neon letters.
"Ready to go in?" I asked Jason. I knew the others were ready but Jason had to smoke a cigarette before we went in, of course. He nodded and threw his cigarette on the ground and stomped it out. I took a deep breath and opened the door and the music immediately got louder, if that was even possible. Just as I was about to head to one of the tables off to the side Katy grabbed my arm and dragged me to the bathroom. Shrugging at the others I let her drag me away. She opened the door to find that it was a one person bathroom.
"Even better," Katy mumbled.
"What are you talking about? Why'd you take me in here?" I asked.
She gave me an look like it was obvious. "Duh, the deal we made. I'm gonna explain the rules to you now."
I should've known. "Explain away," I encouraged her.
"Well, I figured I might not be able to get all of my thoughts together so here you go," she said, pulling a piece of paper out of her purse. "Besides, I figured you might forget them."
I glanced down at the piece of paper. It read:
RULES OF THE DEAL
1. The date has to last at least one hour.
2. You must get the guys' phone numbers.
3. Do NOT give out your phone number, unless you want to, of course, but then he might annoy you by calling you all the time.
4. When you get back from your date, you must log the dates name and number in a notebook so we can keep track.
5. That's it.
I smiled at number five. "Sound good, Katy. Can we get back to the others now?"
"Sure," she said, smiling at me.
I pushed open the bathroom door to and there was a loud thud on the other side. I looked to the other side of the door and Jason was lying on the floor rubbing his head. Rushing to his side I said, "Oh my god, I'm so sorry, are you okay?" It came out all as one word because I was afraid he might be mad or really hurt.
"Uhh, yeah, I'm fine. And it's cool, no need to say sorry, you didn't know I was gonna be outside the door," he said.
"Oh . . . well, I'm still sorry . . . and, um, why were you outside of the door?" I asked him.
He looked embarrased. "I was just checking up on you guys. You never know what Katy has planned so when she grabbed your arm I was worried you might come back covered in glitter or chocolate syrup or something."
I laughed and Katy glared at Jason. "First of all, I don't even have my glitter with me," she said, which only made me laugh harder. "And second of all, I don't like chocolate syrup and even if I did I surely wouldn't cover Isabelle in it."
"If you say so," Jason said. Katy started to move closer to him and he raised his hands up in surrender. "I won't say another word, I promise."
"That's what I thought," Katy said, walking towards the table Crystal had picked out. I held out my hand to help Jason up and we stood in the hallway for a minute.
