Nathaniel's vision went black and then he saw something he didn't quite understand. It wasn't the forest he was in. It was a new land, almost another world it seemed.
He felt a snowflake land on his hand, numbing it slightly and melting. There was a tavern nearby, a stone footpath leading up to the snow covered inn. The windows showed a warm and welcoming inside. He quickly found himself being forced inside. He couldn't control his movements, his legs moving without his input. He felt helpless.
He saw drunken brutes chugging their ale and laughing, having a good time sitting at a bar. There were stairs that lead to another floor but he couldn't move my legs forward to explore the upper floor. Whatever this was, this vision, wouldn't allow him to move freely.
Unwillingly he walked into a room with wooden tables and a fireplace, cracking loudly while a blaze kept steady inside the fireplace. He noticed that there weren't as many people as the place could seat.
Then guards dressed in silver armor with a red robe underneath entered through the door, a chilly winter breeze coming in through the door. They had a metal shield with them and a blade. Suddenly his vision flashed and he saw the blade covered with bright blue blood. It dripped to the floor three times then his vision went back to normal.
The guards muttered something to one of the maids who then got the owner of the bar. After a while of silence and whispers they finally said, "We are looking for a man possessing the Ring of Frost. If he is found please turn him in to receive a reward worth your time."
Something arose in me and he felt fear. Nathaniel looked down at his hands and saw he wore a ring. A ring with the same icy blue color as the blood. The same ring he had just picked up in the woods.
Then the vision changed and he saw a scorched battlefield. It was covered in blood, corpses, swords, axes, bows, and other weapons. There were burn marks all over the bodies, there were cuts, infected wounds, rotten or decayed flesh, and other wounds. It made him want to puke. All these bodies in one place. "What kind of person or thing did this?" He asked himself in horror. It truly was gruesome and horrifying.
It changed and he saw a burning village. They were rushing children out. Woman were screaming in pain. Men were yelling war cries. It was chaos. Suddenly his vision began to dim and he slipped away into the darkness.
