Nathaniel started heading towards the woods. The cold outside nipped at his nose and ears. Somehow the cold calmed him. He reached his destination in the woods he sat down. Soon he noticed someone approaching and became alert.Once he saw it was the girl from before, he rolled his eyes. "So, have you considered my proposal?"
"Yeah. And I'll check it out. It's gotta be better than this place." Nathaniel commented. She began walking, and gestures for him to follow. He did so, and a blinding light appeared.
The light disappeared as quickly as it had come but upon its disappearance was the appearance of spots dancing across his vision. The girl had also disappeared.
Suddenly a blinding light appeared again and a hand stuck through. He was standing close enough to it that he was pulled in. He looked around in wonder, seeing the landscape had changed.
Hewas in a green forest. The trees looked healthy and sturdy but there was one especially big tree. Peace radiated from the tree. It was drawing me in. Except I wasn't drawn in by anything other than pure amazement and curiosity.
"That's uh quite the tree there." Nathaniel said. "Yeah it's the heart of the forest. You want to go inside it?" He stared in shock at her words and then she pulled him by the arm towards the tree. As we approached he saw no way to get inside. He wondered if there was anyway to get inside. She let go of his arm and started jumping from limb to limb of the tree until she got to a hole in the tree. She jumped in and disappeared.
Nathaniel quickly followed and went inside. He looked around the room and saw a bed made up out of oak twisted into a magnificent tree. He then saw the dressers closes and other furniture all with designs he had never seen before.
"We don't find these designs we make them." And with that she walked off leaving him standing there in shock. He headed down the giant twirling staircases that went around the walls of the tree. He jogged over to her and said "Did we just enter someone else's room?" She turned around looking at him. "No we entered your room."
He didn't know what to say and she could sense that so the subject faded away. "So-" He was cut off by sight of the hub.
He then felt a tug and before he knew it he was being pulled somewhere. Nathaniel noticed everyone else was heading in the same direction as him.
He looked around him and saw tall elvish people, some dwarves, some reptilian people, and many other people proceeding to a giant hall that looked like meals were served there, and meetings were had. He went to head towards a seat to only be tapped on the shoulder by the girl who then beckoned for him to follow her.
He followed her towards the front of the room where he stood onto a podium greeted by a strong bearded man with white hair. He loudly said "Here is the one we have been waiting for. He has come with the Ring of Frost
to help us in the fight against the evil sweeping the land." His voice echoed around the room and everyone started cheering. The girl tapped his shoulder and whispered for him to follow her, and she lead him into a room. Later the man who announced his appearance here came into the room along with another person in a blue robe and glasses. They all sat down by a giant round oak table. Then the blue robed person started to speak. "Have you seen anything peculiar or have things that are different?"
"Visions." Was all he said, and he said it in a rather solemn voice as he remembered them. They clearly weren't pleasant.
"What were they about?" The bearded man asked, inquisitively.
"My father's death. A battlefield. There were these pictures too. I couldn't make sense of any of it." Nathaniel said.
"Your training begins tomorrow."
"Great."
