The sky hadn't blue for months now, and I realized that as I was driving away on the man's motorcycle that it was constantly an orange color.

When it wasn't, the sky would be charcoal grey, which normally happened after one of those black storms that seemed to be taking over the city, the country, the continent, basically the whole world.. I pressed my foot down onto the pedal, speeding down the old, dusty road. I had no idea where I was going, but I just wanted to leave. That day I was wearing a hunter green button up, with faded blue jeans, and combat boots. I had taken a small bag from Tony, and it was pressed against my back as I drove along.

This was one of the rarer days when light was in the sky, normally you could barely see. I looked back in the mirror, and saw dust clouds rising, and buildings collapsing. I pressed hard on gas, fear pounding away at me. The ground began to shake, first slowly, and then it seemed like it was vibrating, throwing the motorcycle around. An instant later it was pitch black.

"Ahh!" I yelped, and fell off the bike sideways. The concrete scratched at my jeans, ripping holes in them, and giving me rubs on my arms. I tried to stand, but the world suddenly shook, and I fell backwards, hitting my head on the ground. My vision swayed, and when I reached back to feel my head, a sticky liquid coated my hand. I winced in pain, and stood, grasping around in the darkness for the motorcycle. The engine must have stopped because I couldn't hear a single thing, except for the occasional cracking noise, something that sent shivers down my spine.

I crawled along the road, feeling my way across the concrete. I tried to ignore the throb that fled from the back of my head to the front, but it didn't work. I my hands ran along the gravel, and suddenly they were suspended in nothingness. I  jumped back, falling on my butt. "Holy crap!" I exclaimed, backing away from the crack of some sort. I closed my eyes for a moment, and then opened them, hoping some sort of light would appear. Nothing. The black storms didn't normally last this long, which seemed to frighten me even more.

I squinted, and some light seemed to come back into the world. I looked back into where the city was, and through the dim light, I could see demolished, ruined piles of rubble, that I guess used to be buildings. A few feet in front of me was the abyss, which had spread all the way down the road. Some chalky dust was spread around in the air, and I coughed, inhaling the stuff. My mother had said something about the dust coming into the air after the storms, and I spit on the road, what was left of it at least.. I stood up, feeling light headed. My feet swayed, but I was able to stay standing, and after a quick look around, saw the motorcycle was nowhere to be found. Tears began to form in my eyes, as I realized what had become of the world. Twenty years ago, everything was peaceful, grass still existed, there was still snow, but now there was nothing...

I stumbled along the road and looked over into the gaping black pit in front of me. I could continue on, hopefully find some where to go, some way to help. But hope didn't really exist anymore...

One silent tear slipped down my cheek, and I lent forward. "I'm sorry," I murmured softly, and then I jumped...

Wind flew at my face, and it felt like I was on a roller coaster, something that the kids of this generation would never get to see... darkness surrounded me as I fell, and suddenly there was a bright light, heat.. and I screamed as I fell into it...

Hope you enjoyed, I will try to write some more soon!
