Alone

The music is soft like the wind, yet hard like the waves in a storm. But dreamy like clouds. "Hello?" I ask looking up to see a girl with black hair with light blue streaks. She looks at me surprised and stops, making a terrible noise.

"I'm sorry, it's just so beautiful." I say reaching out to touch it. She rolled her sky blue eyes at me and sighed. "Will you keep playing?" I say looking closely but not touching. She starts up again with something more vibrant. I watch her as her face shows no emotions at what beautiful music she is playing. She has a lightning bolt tattoo under her left eye and was wearing blue jeans with a black and white shirt.

Then Cassie walked in. "Finally Courtly I found you!" She said while walking, her high heels clanking on the floor. The girl raised her hands up in an annoyed look and started putting away her violin. "My brother told me what happened. He's here to apologize and all that."

"I don't want to talk to him!" I yell, the violin starts up with a sad noise. I look away from Cassie. "He broke my heart and theirs nothing he can do."

Cassie put her hand on my shoulder. "I understand, I'll tell him." She said walking away. I stand there for a few minutes listening to the sound of the violin.

I felt lonely, "what's your name?" I ask the girl. A long silence answers my reply. I look at her and then she looks at me. She stops and reaches into her pocket, she shakes the bangs out of her eyes while reaching in. She pulls out an old crumpled piece of paper. Then she handed it to me, I opened the folded parts and read:

"Donna Ray," I flip the piece of paper. "I'm mute." I put the paper on the table as she continues her music. I didn't bother apologizing, she would hear the same thing 'I'm sorry your mute'. But that's not what she wanted to hear, 'I'm sorry your alone.' Is what she wanted. My loneliness right now must not compare to the loneliness she felt all the time.
