Dan is gone. He’s a Pj’s for a collab and it’s supposed to rain. I am terrified of storms, but Dan’s been putting this collab off for too long so I told him to go and not to worry about me. Really I wish he would have stayed home with me. You can do this. I think to myself. You’re an adult. Storms don’t hurt you. I’m lying, I can’t even convince myself. I grab my blue fuzzy blanket and put it on the couch and pull up netflix and while I wait for it to come up I go to make popcorn. I bring my popcorn over to the couch and curl up with my blanket and phone and start High School Musical. I start reading tweets from fans to calm myself. I tweeted Being brave while Dan’s away. Just then I heard thunder and lightning and i crouched down in my blanket hiding from the storm. I wish Dan was here. He would cuddle me and protect me. It was pouring outside so I turned up the sound to drown it out. 15 minutes later i heard a knock at the door. I get up to answer it. Outside of my door is Dan soaking wet. I usher him in and get him a towel.
“What were you doing outside in the rain?” I ask.
“I heard the storm and knew you’d be terrified so I literally ran over here just to comfort you.” He shook like a dog. “Let me change and I’ll be right back.” He pecked my cheek and quickly changed. He barged down the hallway and nearly tackles me to the couch in a hug. “Are you really watching High School Musical?” he asked.
“It reminds me of you.” I kissed him and drag him over to the couch. I pull the blanket over us and we snuggle underneath it. “I’m so glad you came home.” I laid my head on his shoulder.
“I don’t want you to have to be brave by yourself, my love.” He kissed the top of my head.
We stayed there the rest of the night talking and giving sweet reassuring kisses until I fell asleep on his lap curled up in a ball. He carried me to bed and we cuddled in bed all night. Dan is the best boyfriend anyone could ever ask for.
