Ella and Ben

Once upon a time a little girl and boy were walking through the woods. They came across an old man with a rusty key. The old man said to the girl: "Take this key to a pyramid that you will find deep within these spoooooooooooky woods! And the girl said: "You mean THESE spooooooooooky woods?"

"You see any other woods around here missy?"

"Nope."

"What's your name, kid?"

"Ella."

"Well Ella, take your boyfriend—"

"He's not my boyfriend!"

"Whatever. The two of you go into the woods and find that pyramid."

So the boy and girl went into the woods and low and behold, found the old man's pyramid. They looked for a door. There was no door. So they looked for a keyhole in the rocks instead...and found one. The girl turned the key and the pyramid opened up.

"Holy cheesy mackerel," Ben said.

The two kids went into the darkness...

Down and down the ramp led them. Water dripped from somewhere. Old stones loomed. Finally they reached a door that had a sign.

PLEASE COME IN, the sign said.

"Odd," said Ella. "Why would a pyramid use a colloquialism like that?"

Ben wasn't listening. He opened the door and a mummy burst out at them!

"Holy cheesy mackerel!"

Both kids ran back up towards the light. The mummy followed. It was a close race. But the kids made it out to find the old man standing there. Ella threw the key at him and said: "Get your own stuff out of there! We're done with this place!"

"Chickens," the old man told them.

Ella and Ben left. They picked the berries that their mother wanted and went home. Nothing was seen or heard from the old man again.

The End
