One Group

I was changing my shirt when Jason barged into my room, "Seriously Daniela?! What were you thinking?!" he screamed at me,

"You wanted me to leave them alive?! They could have killed us all!!" I screamed back.

"You shouldn't have gone outside the walls!" he said.

"They told me they've been watching us Jason, if I hadn't found them then they would still be watching us and planning an attack. What part of that do you not understand?" I said.

Jason paced back and forth in my room, he was extremely upset with me but I didn't see it as a wrong.

We planned on being on extra guard duty but we needed supplies, we couldn't stay hidden forever so we decided to go on a run. We planned for half of our men to stay and half to go, just like before if there were more of them out there then we needed to be prepared.

The town we were going to we had only gone to a couple times. It was farther out than the usual runs but we have to do to what we have to do.

I argued with Jason to let me go, he wanted me to stay with him at the camp but I told him I'm better out in the field. I packed all the crossbows I had and 2 handguns with extra amo. I kissed the Katherine and Kody, our younger twin siblings, goodbye and headed out.

We traveled in two of our vehicles and were now about 15 miles out. We hadn't ran into anything the path was pretty clear. "They could ne hiding." I said to Phillip.

"They probably are, waiting for us to think we're safe then come out." he said.

When we arrived at the town we slowly got out of our vehicles. We made sure our surroundings were clear then began our search. We didn't split up and everything went well until we began to make our way back to the cars, we heard some talking. Before turning the corner, Phillip who was leading our group told us all to lean against the wall of the building then peaked to see who it was.

I could hear that it was at least 3 men who said, "These cars haven't been here for long" , "There are other people here too", "Keep your eyes out" they said.

Phillip looked back at us and whispered, "They could be a threat, we have to come out before they see us and try and hurt us" he said.

Then we all came out in front of 6 men, we came out with our guns and I with my crossbow. The 6 men immediately pointed their guns back, "Put it down!" Phillip screamed.

"You put it down!" one of their men said.

"What are you doing here?!" Phillip screamed.

"Same thing you're doing, looking for supplies." their man answered.

There were more of us than them so if it came to it, we could take them. We stared at each other neither side putting down their weapons. Until all of a sudden we heard screams both sides put our weapons down and turned towards the street to see that about 15 men with "W"'s on their foreheads ran towards us, with knifes, chains, and bats.

Immediately our 2 sides became one and we fought the men off. Shooting arrows and bullets we took out most of them. The ones that got closer we had to physically fight off. One large man came towards me with a large chain and swung it, it caught my side just barely scraping the wound I had from before.

I screamed then immediately Phillip came running towards us, and shot him right in the head as I grabbed my side that was now bleeding. "You okay?" Phillip asked, "I'll be fine" I answered, then we both saw that the man who was leading the other group was now having a fist fight with one of Wolves. I told Phillip, "I got it" and flung an arrow at his head.

The man got up brushing himself off, "Thanks" he said.

"No problem" I answered. At that point we realized these people were no longer a threat, they were just like us, survivors.

After every one of the wolves were taken care of, everyone sort of came together.

"They were after us" the leader said. I was surprised because I was almost sure they were after us.

"Have you seen those men before?" I asked,

"Yeah they attacked our camp a while back, they call themselves the wolves. Now they'll be back again, no doubt." he said looking around to all the bodies we left.

"They attacked us too, we were thinking they were after us." I said.

He looked surprised now too. "Where is your camp?" he asked.

"We're east of here. We don't usually come this far but they burned down all the towns in our areas, we needed supplies." I said.

"They broke into our camp and killed several of our people, we've had our guard up ever since." He said.

"They attacked our walls, no one ever got in but we had some repairing to do" I said.

"My name is Aidan, he reached out to shake my hand, I gave him my hand to shake, "I'm Daniela" I said.
