Soon after she got out of the bath she exited the room with her hair in a messy bun and wearing a pair of black jeans and a Markiplier T-shirt. She blushes slightly when she saw that I noticed. I entered the bathroom and put on my lucky flannel, because I didn't know what shirt to wear, and some jeans. I put on some cologne and ran my hand through my hair to try and tame it slightly. I walked out of the bathroom and smiled at Kendra.
"You ready to go?"
I asked her. She nodded. We walked down to the parking lot and I remembered I didn't grab my keys. All I had was my house key.
"Uhh.... seems like we are going to have to walk to the restaurant... heh heh...."
Kendra smiled and said it was fine. We walked until we saw a McDonalds.
"Ooooooh! Can we go to McDonalds please?!"
I laughed at her excitement.
"Sure."
I told her as we walked towards it. She smiled brightly and laughed. We walked in and ordered some food. We sat down at one of the tables and started to eat. Kendra watched the door intently. I watched her closely until she completely stopped eating and stared at the door. I turned around and saw a group of three girls walk in. They looked like they would be the popular girls at school. Kendra sank down in her seat. That made them notice her.
"Well lookie what we've got here! It's the class-skipper!!"
They walked over to the table and smirked at her. They looked at me and back to her again.
"Wow. I bet you are are paying this guy to hang out with you. You're a little slut, you know that?"
They pushed closer to her. That was when I had to stand up for her.
"Hey."
I called out to the girls. They turned their attention towards me.
"what do you want?"
They sneered. I chuckled darkly.
"I am most likely about 10 years older than you all and I can easily over power you. Stop messing with her. Unless you want to face the consequences..... "
The girls backed away, looking scared. I had a smile stuck on my face as I stood up to look down at the girls. I inched closer and closer towards them and whispered,
"Boo..."
They all screamed and ran out the door. I laughed to myself and looked at Kendra. She was crying. I sat next to her to calm her down.
"Th-thank you...."
She managed to say.
"No problem."
I hugged her tightly. She smiled at me and wiped her tears away. I suggested that we should head off to the theater. She agreed and we walked there in silence.
"So what movie do you want to see?"
I asked her.
"whatever is playing, I guess..."
She looked kind of sad and disappointed.
"what's wrong?"
"Those girls we're from my school..... I'm going back tomorrow.... I don't want them to bully me...."
"You can text me. Tell the teacher you feel extremely sick and text me to pick you up."
She looked at me in disbelief for a moment but then smiled.
"Thank you."
"No problem."
She handed me her phone so I could put my number in it. I did and we got to the theater.
We got to the movie ticket booth. I looked at what was playing and saw a scary looking movie.
"Oh! Kendra! Let's watch that movie!"
I pointed to it. She hugged herself a little.
"You ok?"
She nodded slightly.
"Mhm.... Let's just get the tickets."
I bought our tickets and we entered the theater. I bought us both medium sized drinks and a large bag of popcorn to share. We chose our seats and waited till the previews were done. Finally, the movie started. Almost instantly there was a scream that made Kendra jump and grab my arm. I chuckled. She held on tightly through out the whole movie but I didn't mind. She was really warm against arm.
*about 2 hours later*
The movie ended and Kendra was in tears.
"Kendra..... It was just a movie.... It's ok...."
I was holding her close to me as we walked out of the theater and made our way home. Once we got there, she layed on the couch face down and cried into a pillow. I sat next to her on the ground and patted her back.
"It's ok.... It's ok......"
She cried until she went silent. I listened closer and I heard soft snores. I smiled and picked her up. I held her close to my chest and layed on the couch and layed her on top of me. She cuddled up to my chest and fell deeper into sleep. Soon, I found myself doing the same.
*in the morning*
I woke up to Kendra screaming and beating her fist on my chest. I quickly hugged her so she couldn't move her arms. Her eyes opened quickly and she hugged me. Everything happened so fast, so I just sat there in slight confusion.
"S-sorry..... I was having a nightmare...."
I couldn't help but chuckle.
"It's alright. Just next time tou have a nightmare, don't try to knock the wind out of me."
She looked surprised.
"I am so sorry!!"
"It's fine, it's fine."
She layed back on my chest and sighed.
"Why did I agree to watch that movie?"
She whispered. I chuckled and sat us both up. It was about 6 a.m.
"We should get ready for the day. You have school today!"
I said excitedly, hoping it would make her excited. She sighed.
"Let's just get the day over with...."
She got up and walked to the bathroom. About ten minutes later she came back out in knee length shorts and a red t-shirt. She smiled awkwardly as I looked over her outfit.
"Hmmm....."
I 'hmmed' as I eyed the collar of her shirt.
"What?"
"That shirt is a v-neck.... It's kind of revealing...."
She quickly covered her chest.
"W-well then don't look there!!!"
My face instantly heated up when I realized what I was staring at. I looked away from her.
"S-sorry!"
"It's fine. Before we go...."
She started to change the subject.
"We're going to have to go to my old room and get my school bag."
I nodded and got up.
"No time to waste then!"
We ran upstairs, got the bag quickly, the went back to my apartment.
*10 minutes later*
We were in the car now. She was giving me directions to get to her school. Once we got there, Kendra looked extramly pale.
"You alright?"
She nodded slightly then turned to me with teary eyes.
"D-do I have to go?"
I sighed.
"Sorry but you do. It is only like 8 hours. You can manage."
She turned back towards the school and took a deep breath.
"Fine. But don't be surprised if you get called bt me later wanting to come home."
"That's fine but at least give it an hour."
She opened the door and exited the car.
"See ya later, Mark."
"See ya, Kendra."
I pulled away from the school and drove home.
