Poem #8

bitter-sweet

we were laying on your car trunk at night,

counting the stars in the sky that shine so bright,

we were all cuddly and sweet,

our fingers intertwined and our tangled feet.

it was a photographic moment,

we each gave a smile of content.

you gave me a warm and tight hug,

i inhaled your scent, it was my drug.

you whispered to my ears those three meaningful words,

it was like the gentle sound of chirping birds.

before I can say "i love you too",

time stopped and that's how i knew,

i woke up screaming,

i was just dreaming.
