Weeks started passing and I kept getting more and more excited. Harry seemed to be doing pretty well with all of our planning and even contributed quite a bit to it. This week, Miriam had the week off from classes at uni, so she was able to come to any meetings that Harry and I had for the wedding. Miriam stayed at my apartment with me, so she could drive us to the appointments. We woke up and got ready to meet with the possible florist. We drove to her shop and waited outside in the cool spring weather for Harry to show up. Our appointment was at 9:30 and after waiting for a while, it was 9:27. Miriam pulled on my wrist and said, "It's almost time for your appointment. He must be running late. He can just meet us in there."

I sighed and followed Miriam inside. The appointment took about a half an hour, as she had predicted it would. We had decided on the flowers that would be placed in the church and possibly on the tables at our reception, along with my bouquet and my bridesmaids'. I got out of the shop and looked at my phone for any possible texts from Harry. There weren't any, so I called him. His phone sent me straight to voicemail and I spoke, "Hi Harry. It's me. I was just wondering where you were because you missed our appointment with the florist. Call me back when you get this. Bye."

I hung up and Miriam asked, "Did you want to just drop me off at your place and then you can go see what happened?"

"Sure," I responded and she drove to my apartment.

I gave her my key and she gave me her car keys. I watched her go inside and I drove to Harry's house. His car was still in his driveway, so I knew he was home. I took the spare key from its hiding place and unlocked the door. I walked inside and noticed that it was too quiet for Harry to be awake. I walked into his room and saw that he was sleeping. I huffed and sat on his bed. He must've felt the bed move when I sat down because his eyes fluttered. When they opened completely, he looked around and spotted me. He smiled and then his eyes flew wide open as he grabbed for his phone. He looked at, I'm assuming, the time and he groaned. I raised my eyebrows and he stated, "You're not happy."

I shook my head and he told me, "I'm so sorry. My alarm didn't go off this morning and I overslept."

"Clearly," I stated coldly.

"Evie, I didn't mean for this to happen. And it won't happen again. I promise," he said with his puppy-dog eyes.

I sighed and laid down next to him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my head. I turned to face him and told him, "Roses. I hope you're okay with those. They're my favorites and since you weren't there to help, I just decided."

"Roses and lilies are great," he smiled and pressed his lips to mine.

I got home that afternoon to find that Miriam wasn't there. I looked around and found a note on my kitchen counter. It read: Evelyn, Louis and I made plans to go out and talk about maid of honor and best man things today. I'll be home tonight. If I'm not home by 10:30, don't wait up for me. Love, Miriam.

I chuckled and went into my room.

The next meeting that we had this week was about the invitations. It was at one in the afternoon, so I knew Harry couldn't oversleep this time. This store was close enough that Miriam and I walked there in the nice weather. I kept glancing at the time on my phone as the time of the appointment came closer and closer. I didn't see Harry anywhere near the store and I sighed when Miriam and I walked inside. I chose the invitations and didn't care what Harry thought about how they looked at this point. On the way home, I texted Harry: Invitations...

After I sent that text, I ignored every text or call that Harry sent me. I was too angry with him to talk to him. He missed two appointments in one week. Miriam went home at the end of the week and reminded me that we had the cake flavor testing the next week.
