Despite how boring a game of golf usually was with my dad, Sunday flew past and before I knew it I was waking up to the sound of my alarm on Monday morning.
After showering and dressing in my overly short school skirt and blouse a jogged downstairs my slipper on the ends of my feet.
"Morning Margret!" I sung hopping onto one of the swivly chairs at the breakfast bar, "Where's dad?"
"Oh, your fathers gone to work already" She said popping some toast in the toaster and pouring my a mug of coffee, "He's got an important meeting this morning but he told me to send you his love"
I smiled at her and sipped my coffee quietly looking into the mug and looking at the speckles on the surface. I was meeting Noel at 8.10 to walk to school with him like I did every morning. There was no point rushing on a Monday considering it was assembly morning and if you took long enough, you'd miss the boring parts. I ate my toast slowly once it had popped, and then headed back upstairs to apply my make-up. By eight I was done so I headed downstairs with the rest of my uniform on and my phone in my hands.
"Bye Margret!" I yelled in the general direction of the kitchen as I slipped on my black pumps and picked up my bag. As I slammed the white glossed door I heard a small reply of 'goodbye'. I started a slow paced stroll once I was out of my drive and switched my music on to play in the background as I coasted to the place that Noel and I always met in. The walk through the suburb that I lived in was always quiet and the beautiful scenery rolled by with the track of tweeting birds most morning.
The crisp Autumn air whipped round my ankles, but it was hardly cold. Well not as cold as it could get. When I made it to the spot that Noel and I always met I was supprised to see him there already.
"Morning" I smiled at him.
"Hey" He said looking up from his phone, "You're late"
I looked at the time on my phone as I un-hooked the one headphone I had in my ear out, "I'm not late, you're just early!"
Noel laughed at me, "Tricked you" He grinned straightening up, "I feel the need for a sugar rush this morning. Fancy a quick stop past the corner shop?"
I grinned and nodded my head. Noel was my little cash machine and always bought me sweets when we made our quick stops. He always insisted I never owed him, so by now I had given up on trying to give him money back. We approached the shop soon after and walked in together, after a long while spent chopping an choosing I finally decided on a small bag of skittles and Noel- a bag of fruit pastels, a bar of chocolate and a can of coke.
"You're going to get fat soon" I laughed grabbing the can of coke and taking a sip before Noel even got it to his lips.
"Hey! Anyway, at least I don't have a poptart addiction"
"It's not an addiction!" I protested as Noel grabbed the can of coke back. He raised his eyebrows at me as if to say 'yeah right' as we continued on our way to school.
When we finally did get there assembly was finishing. Students were filling out of the hall and we just joined in with the throng of them.
"What have you got first?" Noel questioned.
"Art, what about you?"
"I think I've got Media. I'll meet you outside your art class at break then shall I?"
I nodded and hugged him goodbye before I walked off down the art corridor to my class. When I got there everybody was already in class gathered round my Art teacher Miss.Haloway. I popped my shoulder bag down on the floor before joining everybody who was watching Miss demonstrate how to manipulate clay into an immaculate sculpture.
