The rest of the day went on as normal, I ate lunch with my friends and I went to maths. All exactly the same as it had been since the start of the year. But the only thing I felt was different was this new cloud I felt as if I was floating on.
"Hey Lily, you're in a good mood!" Ben said as soon as I sat down next to him.
"And that's a bad thing?"
"Nope, It's good!" He insisted, "it's just this is maths, you're usually not this enthusiastic about maths"
I smiled, "I had an epiphany during lunch" I then chuckled, "She who doth not enjoy doth not prosper"
Ben laughed and flicked open our text book, "well if you say so!" He then settled on the page our maths teacher had wrote up on the board and started writing down the title. I paused for a second to think before I started copying down the work in my own book.
When the final bell of the day sounded I considered going back to Professor Lester's lab, but the shouts of Noel over the crowd stopped me.
"Hey Lily!" He dashed over trying to catch up with me on the stairs. On his way down he managed to knock a year 7 flying but soon caught hold of her and stopped her from falling. "Lily, hey, you said you were going to wait for me so we could go round mine and start off our English project"
"Oh yeah!" Sudden realisation flooded over me, "Ahhh, I'm sorry...it totally lost itself in the jumble of my thoughts!"
"No problem" Noel smiled at me as we stepped down the last step in exact timing. We then headed to reception and out the main doors. The mid autumn weather had, as predicted, started to chill down as the sun was hid under a cloud of grey. The walk back to Noels was much shorter than the walks that we normally stretched out when we were on our way to school. As soon as we opened up his front door one of his cats came rushing up to greet me.
"Preto!" I cooed bending down to stroke him. He rubbed his head on my hand before meowing at me.
"I best feed him and Branco before we start" Noel smiled taking my bag and hanging it up for me, "Just go take a seat in the lounge and I'll be there in a moment"
I wandered off into the lounge flipping my shoes off before I went. Noel lounge was small and cozy, with a fire place and oak panelling. His parents were slightly old fashioned but the house felt homely and well lived in. Not frumpy. There were soft purple sofas in three corners of the room, but I still decided on sitting on the floor with my back up against one. Noel walked in soon after and gave me a grin as he set down two cans of coke on the coffee table.
"Right, I think it's best we get set off to work. But first we need ideas" He said struggling to get on the floor because of the tightness of his school trousers.
"They're skinnier than mine!" I chuckled when he finally managed to plonk himself down on the ground.
"Shut up, you're skirt is so short it's almost a belt, so touché!"
I poked out my tongue at him and gave him a moc-punch, "take it back"
"Nope, skirt slut!" Noel gave my shoulder a gentle shove. I shoved him back and before we knew it we were wrestling on the carpet. I managed to un-lock one of my hands from his tight grip and started tickling him causing him to laugh un-uncontrollably, "Lily stop!" he shrieked swatting me.
"Not until you take it back!" I continued to scuttle my hand down the crook of his neck giggling along with him.
"Never!"
"Well I'll continue tickling you then" I grinned getting my other hand free and tickling his neck on both sides.
"Lily...pleeeaaaasseeeeeeee!"
I suddenly stopped and sat backwards, "Shouldn't we be getting on?" I said innocently as if nothing happened. Noel shook his head at me, but a huge grin was still etched on his face.
"What Shakespeare play shall we re-search then?"
"Urmm..." I tapped my fingers on my bottom lip, "Well we could, I suppose, do Titus Andronicus. I played Lavinia in that last year when we put on the production in drama. I've already got the script memorised so writing it up, analysing it and then presenting it would be a doddle"
Noel shrugged his shoulders, "I 'suppose. But I don't want you to be lumbered with all of the work. If we re-searched a play neither of us knew anything about we'd be doing equal amounts of work"
"No, I don't see it as that. It'll be to much work. Considering we already have quite a bit of information on Titus Andronicus, why make our lives difficult? Plus I've just had a good idea"
Like I had told Noel, re-search and analysing was quick and easy, as I wrote out what we needed, he typed it up into a PowerPoint on his computer. Pretty quickly it was done and I could set us out on preparing my brilliant idea.
"Are you sure this scene is okay?"
I shrugged, "What writing out my apology to my father in the sand with bloodied hand stumps? I've seen worse in Saw"
Noel laughed as I knelt down on the ground and practiced dragging my hand across the floor in a pair of socks we had stained, not as if it were much of a mammoth task.
"True, but won't Miss be a little shocked? At the gory-ness, I do snap your neck in front of my friends in the next part"
"Noel, we preformed this last year, to the year 8's and nines, nobody found it too gory or offensive"
Noel shrugged and continued reciting his lines before the scene changed and I pulled up a chair to hint that I was sat at a dining table.
"No, boy, not so; I'll teach thee another course.
Lavinia, come. Marcus, look to my house:
Lucius and I'll go brave it at the court:
Ay, marry, will we, sir; and we'll be waited on." He recited before stepping up behind me and miming giving my head a short sharp turn to the left. I then fell from my chair miming a quick death. I stayed laying on the floor lulling my tongue out and rolling my eyes back in my head.
"Lily, stop...that's just creepy" Noel said as I lay as still as possible. I then opened my eyes quickly and smiled.
"A kiss to wake me from my slumber?" I said still in Shakespeare mode, I then pursed my lips and let my eyes flutter shut.
"Watch out, I may just do that" Noel joked.
"I dareth thee" I squelched out my mouth still pursed. I heard Noel cough and struggles back down to the floor. I then felt an arm either side of me before one snaked under my back and lifted me up slightly. My heart was racing by now, and I didn't know how to back out of this now. So I did the only thing I could think of, I opened my eyes and lent my head up connecting my lips with Noel's.
[Bum...bum...buuuuuummmmmmm! Lily can't keep her lips to herself ;] Was that because she was craving Professor Lester's touch? Or just because maybe she secretly likes Noel? Who knows, read on to find out more lovelies ;]]
