Diary
1:57am 16th DecemberSo I saw her today. About time. We spoke but it was awkward. She has made me feel things I haven't felt before. She is so much shorter than me. I'm not being patronising, she is beautiful. She works in a little sandwich shop in a seaside village, right on the waters edge. Lately it's been quiet. I would often see her stood outside, eyes glued to her phone, cigarette between her teeth. I still don't know her name. I haven't had the guts to ask. But she is polite. Strong.
IRL earlier that day to
"Oh hi sorry I was just taking a quick break" she said following me into the shop. "That's fine, don't worry about it" I said. I was so fucking nervous. Suddenly the door to the shop flew open hitting cupboard behind the door making us both jump. "Can I get a coffee" he said. He was middle aged wearing a white polo shirt and cords. "Sorry, I'm just serving this man a-" I cut her off saying my name "Harry" I gleamed at her. "Sorry I'm just serving Harry at the moment" empathising on the 'Harry'. The man looked her up and down and then me.
My hands were clenching into fists I could feel that he was about to be rude. "Erm sorry missy but you're just stood their yapping" he almost shouted at her. "Excuse me, I was ordering my lunch" I said to him moving closer. "Why did the fatty over there eat your lunch" he said looking over at her. I looked over at her just as shocked as she was. She turned, walked and stood in the corner of the shop. "How dare you! How fucking dare you. You absolute snob. What makes it right for you to talk to a lady like that?" I shouted at him. The man just stood and stared at me. "Why is the little porker your girlfriend?" He asked. "No she isn't" I said bluntly. "Then why the fuck do you care" he said sharply. "Because she is-" she cut me off. " sir I'm going to have to ask you to leave. I can't tolerate your verbal abuse." He looked her up and down then tutted and turned and walked out the door. "I will get my coffee some place else then you little tramp" he shouted as he marched off.
He face sank. "So Harry what can I get you?" She said quietly. "Just a coffee and a ham salad sandwich please" I said. "Okay" was her only reply. I watched her from in front of the counter. Biting her bottom lip as she tried to get the sandwich in the box. She made my body go crazy. All of a sudden she was done. "Is that everything? Just the coffee and the sandwich? " she asked "yes thank you!" I beamed. "£5.50 please" she said, still being quiet. I gave her the money. We said our goodbyes and I left. Walking out onto the cold and miserable street.
