What did you tell her?

AJ'S POV

She left just like that with a good bye and a kiss. She didn't explain but she didn't need too I could tell in her eyes she was hurt.

I wasn't going to let her walk away from me not like this. I went to her house her dad let me in he liked me alot better than all the other ones.

I knocked on her door begging for her to let me in.

"Karla please open the door. I want to talk. What happened back there?"I said over and over again.

Then she finally opened the door.

"What do you want Henders?"She said, rolling her eyes.

She called me Henders which was strange. She only called me that when she hated me. I knew right then that she wasn't being herself.

I knew Luke had said something to her and now she's acting like this. Whatever it was I'm going to kick his ass so hard.

"We need to talk."I said.

"Look if it was about sleeping with you I'm sorry but I got better things to do then hang out with a nerd."She said.

"I know Luke said something to you."I said.

"And so what if he did its none of your business."She said.

"Karla just tell me what it was. This is not you."I said.

"Really AJ then who am I. Am I the popular girl who turned smart and is dateing the nerd or am I the bitch that only cares about herself."She said.

"Your not any of those things your something better."I said.

"AJ the person you once knew changed along time ago. And I'm different people like me don't change no matter what."She said.

"Karla."I said.

She slammed the door right in my face. I got in my car and drove to Lukes house.

I went to his room and acted very causal; like nothing happened.

"Hey AJ. Where were you?"He said, grabbing the PS4 controller.

"Oh I went to Karla's house and the funny thing is that she was being a bitch again."I said.

"Well she's always was a bitch and still is."He said, laughing.

"Quit the act Luke I know you said something to her at the hospital. What did you tell her?"I said.

"I told her to back off and to go back to the way things were."He said.

"You ass hole you must be so proud of your self. You messed up the one thing your best friend actually liked about highschool. You should get a medal."I said.

I drove away angry as ever. I wanted to punch something so hard and pretend this was just a joke. A big whole joke, but it was real life and it sucks.

Back at school

I wasn't talking to Luke that bastard can go ruin someone else's life for all I care. Karla on the other I wish she wasn't being a bitch.

It was after school I was going with my teammates to eat some burgers. I had forgotten my phone in the locker room.

I went back inside the locker room. I opened my locker grabbed my phone and closed my locker. I heard someone talking it sounded like Karla.

I walked around and saw my teammate Daniel making out with Karla. I stood there trying to process this in my brain.

"Hmmmm. Hi you two."I said.

"Oh AJ hey this is awkward."Daniel said, scratching the back of his head.

"AJ. What are you doing here?"Karla said, blushing.

"I could ask you the same thing but I saw the first ten seconds of it."I said, walking away.

Karla called my name out but I didn't turn around till we were outside of the locker room.

"AJ look its not what it looks like."She said.

"Karla its okay you can make out with anyone you want. I won't tell anyone plus we're not together so yeah. I got to go see you around."I said.

"Yeah so you around."She said.

I wanted to look back but I didn't. Just talking to her made me think of how stupid I am to not know what happened that day. I should have gone with her in that room.

I told the guys I needed to do some home work. I actually went to sleep thinking about Karla I wanted her back in my arms.

The next day

Next week was going to be PROM. The day everyone has been waiting for especially since it was our senior PROM.

Since the first day of second semester I have been applying to colleges. I wanted to take my name off the balet for PROM king, but Sarah and her twin gay brother Harry were being yelling at me not too. And that it was too late.

I needed a date and every girl in school wanted to go with me except Karla and Emily. My cousin Abby was in town so I asked her.

My cousin Abby went to a different school so no one knew her at my school. And Abby was like a sister to me she always knew what to say.

I had bumped into Karla in the gym for the decorating committee. Emily was in charge and she tried putting Karla and I together on balloons.

But in the end Emilt won because Karla were stuck with the music.

"So the Bee Gees or Beyonce."I said.

"Well lets see I have Selena gomez and Panic! at the Disco."She said.

"Hey about last night-"She said.

"It was awkward."I said, cutting her off.

"Yeah but like you said we aren't together any more. And I was thinking we should be friends."She said.

Then I thought your so stupid AJ why would she listen to you. I wanted to cut off my ears and my eyes. I hurt to see her and it hurt to hear my idiotic comments.

"Yeak I'm totally cool with that. Friend,"I said.

After that we were the last two there cleaning up. We said good bye and hugged each other.

We looked at each others gaze wanting to kiss and make up. We almost kissed but her phone rang.

I left to my car and drove away.
