•DARK SECRET•

CHAPTER ONE

-Alex's POV-

I searched the room to make sure nobody was awake before sneaking out the window. I was at a sleepover with my girls: Tesa, Claire, Ciera, and Jaden. I could tell everyone was sound asleep. The only one who doesn't snore is Ciera. Sometimes she talks in her sleep though. All of us have been best friends since 7th grade. Now we're all juniors. That's about 5 years of telling each other everything. Well, as far as they know, we do. I've never been able to trust anyone completely ever since my dad- I was pulled from my thoughts when a creaking noise erupted from the floorboards as I took another step towards the window I planned on sneaking out of. I panicked as Ciera shifted in her sleep. I waited cautiously to make sure she didn't wake. I sighed in relief as she mumbled something and didn't move, assuring me she's still asleep. Before reaching the window, I unlocked it and removed the screen that prevented me from my escape to reality. When I jumped the 3 foot drop to the mossy ground, I closed the window leaving it open just a crack so I can sneak back inside later. I stared up at the beautiful dark blue sky. The sky was filled with sparkling stars. It was an enchanting sight, but I had to keep moving if I wanted to be on time to the meeting. While running down the street I glanced around every so often hoping nobody was watching. Just down the road I saw the head lights of a vehicle coming my way. I ran behind a near by tree and ducked hoping they didn't spot me. I almost screeched when I saw a huge spider crawling up the tree. I had a huge phobia of spiders! Putting my hand over my mouth, I slowly backed up a foot from the tree. When I was sure they were out of sight of me, I started running again. This time heading towards the woods. I glanced behind my shoulder before slowing down and walking into the dark, foggy forest. I felt like I was on a secret mission or some cheesy cliche thing from a movie. I chuckled at that. I turned serious again when I saw it...

CHAPTER TWO

-Ciera's POV-

I was sweating a lot. The heat was just gushing in! Then I looked down. I closed my eyes in fright. I was standing on a small ledge surrounded by lava! About 100 feet away from me on the other side of the volcano was an army of monkeys shooting guns at me! I blinked and looked again. This time I saw Niall Horan. On a pegasus! He winked at me. I was suddenly relifed Niall had come to my rescue! He waved his potato wand towards the monkeys that were shooting at us. I screamed as one monkeys aim was dead on and was coming straight towards me! I closed my eyes and said my last words before I died- "I love you, Niall Horan." I waited, but nothing happened. Niall laughed at me. Confused, I opened my eyes. Bullets the monkeys were shooting at us were ricocheting off of the air, as if there was some sort of invisible force field around us. I just blinked in confusion. "I love you too, Ciera Ripp," Niall had informed me. I blushed, embarrassed as I realized what was happening. Niall got off the flying unicorn, taking me in his arms. He just stared at me with his blue orbs. I realized how close our faces actually were. I blushed, as he leaned in towards my soft lips to steal a kiss! All I could think was OH MY GOD! Thank the lord I put lipgloss on. Then another thought came to mind: Tesa. I suddenly felt so bad! She was one of my best friends, and Niall's girlfriend! Thankfully, and sadly at the same time, there was this cracking noise, causing us to pull away and not kiss after all. The whole ground was shaking! "Shit!" I cursed and I woke up. I rolled over after seeing Alex up. Trying to pretend I was asleep, I stayed still. I heard a 'thud' and I turned again to see Alex gone. Then she reappeared at the window closing it until just a crack of the window was open. Where the hell was she going?! I waited a minute before getting up to go after her. I slipped on my shoes and followed her example of jumping out the window. Everybody else was still snoring away so I closed the window, but not all the way. I crouched down, looking around for her. I saw her crouched down behind a tree just a little ways away. A car passed and I waited a minute before following her down the street. She kept looking behind her so I had to run tree to tree. Then she shocked me. Even more. She turned into the dark forest! What the hell? Why would she want to go in there?! She was never one to like dark places. I thought maybe she would be meeting up with some guy or something. But then again, she could be meeting up with some guy. In the forest. How vague... I followed her into the woods. Then something strange happened. She disappeared! Maybe this is another dream. I pinched myself. "owe!" I whispered. I definitely wasn't dreaming because, damn! That hurt! I giggled at my stupidity. I'm such a blonde. Literally, I thought to myself as I reached to touch my dirty blonde short hair. I figured I couldn't possibly find her in the woods, so I headed back to the house. I left the window open just as Alex had left it. I climbed back into my sleeping bag and hoped I could refinish that dream. I kind of felt bad that I was thinking about kissing Tesa's boyfriend. Even if it was just a dream. It's the only place where I can show my real feelings towards Niall.

CHAPTER THREE

-Alex's POV-

I wiped my forehead with relief. Who knows what bad things could've happened if Ciera kept following me! There's no escaping her questioning later though. *sigh* She better not tell the others. I was walking in the forest on my way to the meeting. My eyes on the bright blue light gleaming from far away, I stumbled over a tree trunk. "dammit!" I cursed, as I wiped at my white shorts that were now covered in dirt. Could this night get any worse? I shrugged it off and tried to keep my expression masked. I finally arrived at the meeting. I could smell the others. They smelled of vanilla. Just like me. Before coming into view of the others, I brushed through my long black hair, patting at my shorts and legs again. I took a deep breathe and walked into the light. Immediately Zach laid his gorgeous green eyes on me. "Hello, Alex," Zach said, flashing his dazzling smile at me. Zach was beautiful. He had dirty blonde hair that hung in front of his eyes, making him do this hair flip thing all the time. Also, his eyes. Oh how I loved his eyes! They were a gorgeous green that some how seemed to sparkle! And his clear, toned skin-also helped. But his six-pack of perfectly toned abs that lead down to a v-line was probably the cherry on top. I couldn't help but blush at the thought of our last encounter. Zach winked at me, as he saw my reddening cheeks. "Hi, Zachary." I said with a flirtatious edge. And flashings my own smile at him, I took a step closer, only to fall over another branch. Before I could hit the ground, Zach was there to catch me. He was fast. That was one of our powers. I'm just to clumsy. I sighed and he laughed. "Thanks," I said sheepishly, blushing. I took a step away but he kept my hand in his, still keeping his stare on me. His hand was soft and warm in mine. I wanted to look away but it's like I couldn't. His eyes were sparkling again. I heard someone approaching us. Zach turned his gaze away allowing me to look too.

CHAPTER FOUR

It was just Amanda. Amanda had long, gorgeous bleach blonde hair and golden brown eyes. She was fairly nice to me but she's never liked Zach too much. I wonder why that is. I removed my hand from Zach's and went over to Amanda. "Hey, Alex!" Amanda seemed happy to see me. Zach appeared at my side again. "Do you know what tonight's meeting is about?"
