I couldn't, no, I can't let him hurt her again. My knuckles turn white from all the force I'm exerting on the gripped steering wheel in my fists. I hit the speed a notch more. I need to get there as fast I can. I can't let him get to her before I do.
After Jack had left the house, I hurriedly went back into my room and pulled open the history of my google chrome. But, of course Jack wasn't that stupid. He had already cleared the history; preventing me from finding out where Ellen is staying. But he's not the only one who doesn't give up. I searched around a bit more, here and there. This website and that. A few more calls and I had finally found which hotel she is staying in.
"Come on, come on!" I hiss as the hotel comes into view, and I hit the pedal to go faster. I am not backing down. I had already given him one too many chances. I won't let him get away with it this time.
I reach the hotel doors and quickly climb out of my car. I ask the security guy to park it and he agrees so, I let him. Running into the lobby, I stand at the reception and ask, "Um..Is Ellen staying here?"
The receptionist raises her eyebrow at me, "What is her surname, sir?" She was a brunette with beautiful, big and round green eyes. She looked like she was in her mid-twenties. Her hair was up in a tight bun and she had rectangular shaped glasses that framed her eyes perfectly. Honestly, I thought she was beautiful, but I had no time to use my charm.
"I don't know, but I guess she stays with that boyband, uh...One Direction, maybe?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, sir. I can't give away the numbers of their rooms, seeing as they specifically asked for it to stay confidential within the management of the hotel," she stated with her professional voice.
"I know, I know. But, its kind of really urgent. I need to talk to her. She really might be in danger. Please. You can make me talk to your manager, if you like. I have no problem, but please hurry."
She stared at me as if trying to study me and see whether I was lying or not. She narrowed her eyes at me and I gulped. I wasn't scared because I wasn't lying, but I was scared because her gaze was so intense on my face. She was burning holes into it.
"Fine. Don't try anything stupid, though or you'll be kicked out," she pauses clicking around on the screen in front of her, then continued, "Okay, rooms 38 and 39 on the eighth floor. But I might need your name, just in case. Full name."
"Finn Harries"
"Okay. Don't try to act smart, cutie."
Relief washed over me when she said the numbers, but I couldn't help but gape at her for calling me a cutie. What was I to her, seven?
"Uhm..okay, whatever. Thanks," I quickly replied as I turned around and headed for the elevators.
I press on the button, but the elevator doors don't open. "Come on. Come on. Come on," I chant as I press repeatedly on the button as if it would make it come down faster. I hear a ding and I mumble a yes, and rush into the elevator. Thankfully, it was vacant. I didn't want to bump into anyone in this rush I'm in.
I shift from foot to foot uncomfortably, waiting for the elevator to ding again. I hum and whistle. "Damn, why is it taking so long?" I mutter looking at the doors, hoping it would open soon.
My wish was granted as the doors made it's ding sound and opened. I rushed out of the elevator again but forced to a stop to look around.
The hotel was well organised. It had ceramic cream coloured walls and red carpeted floor. There were three different hallways leading to different rooms. I spot the rooms starting from thirty and head there.
