Chapter 5

I got my money out ready to pay to get into the zoo when Ashton handed over the money for both of us. "Here" I said holding my money out to him. He just laughed like I was being ridiculous and pushed my hand away. I raised my eyebrows at him. "Soph I'm not taking your money" Aww he's given me a nickname! "Fine, but lunch is on me" I winked and started walking. I felt his long fingers intertwine with mine. We walked along in silence just smiling to ourselves when we came to the giraffes. I told him they were my favourite. Did he take me here first on purpose? We stopped to look at them. Well, I couldn't take my eyes off of Ashton. His curls blowing in the slight wind, his eyes glowing in the sunlight, slightly squinting his eyes. I snapped back to reality realising he was looking at me. "So what do you think?" "They're so cute, look at the baby one!" I replied assuming he was talking about the giraffes. "No silly, about coming out with me and the boys tonight" He said it with a giggle obviously knowing I was staring at him. "Sure that sounds great, what are we doing?" "Um, probably just get food then watch a movie or something". He was so normal, I mean I never thought he would be stuck up or anything I guess I just still can't believe I'm with him. "Quick we better go if we're going to see the sea lion show." Again he took my hand as we walked off. It was so busy, each time we had to walk through a crowd he pulled me infront of him and held me close around the waist. I never wanted him to let go. By the time we got to the sea lions there wasn't many spaces left to sit so we grabbed a seat at the front not realising why those spaces weren't taken. We laughed uncontrollably all the way through. All the tricks the sea lions were doing cause massive back splashes so we got soaked. I tried to hide behind Ashton to keep me from getting wet but then he tried saving himself behind me! It was so cute though. When it finished we went and sat on a bench near a playground. Ashton had gone to get us a cup of tea to warm us up. When he came back he sat next to me and wrapped his arms around me holding me close trying to warm me up. I looked up at him, why was he so perfect? "Getting warmer?" He asked giving me a squeeze. "Yeah a little bit." I rested my head on his chest and he kissed me on my head. We finished our tea then continued walking around hand in hand, looking at all the animals. "Ah finally the monkey's" I giggled at him. "You have a cheeky grin like a monkey." He looked at the ground laughing then stood with his back against the fence where the monkeys were so I could take a picture of him with one. Out of nowhere this one monkey jumped on the fence right behind him, I've never seen anyone jump so hard it was so cute yet so funny. After he recovered from the shock he started laughing with me. We got closer, and we got more serious. We stood face to face, mine cupped in his hands, then he leaned in and gave me a light kiss on the lips. His lips were so soft. We were stood with our foreheads touching. Then I looked up, "Maybe we should move before you get another heart attack from a monkey" I said teasing him. "Hey it was scary ok!" "For you it was." I said giving him a cheeky wink. "C'mon it's nearly 4, the guys will be starving by the time we get back home." "Aww trying to change the conversation? Let's go then" Again, we walked back to the car hand in hand. Everything just felt so natural with him, like we'd known each other for years.
