Juniper Cries - A Poem by Alex Sharpe

It twas but a bitter buddy dwindling his youth

Gone in the mind but not left uncouth

Tortured by nothing, but burdened by truth

The earth dances with the moon

and the waves sway

and the starlight shines

The tears of the crying masses

concerned about their fears

and the silences that smashes

thousands of children's tears

Broken bottled rage full of broken dreams

contained by a cage of a thousand setting sun's blaze

left behind to die

Deep in the dark where the caverns howl

Creeped in and crooked where the owl knows no how

The Ice moon dances on the child moon's sun

whilst in the garden, lay an empty run

trickling down the sides of lifeless pedals

Casting embers of shadows

next to a blue shimmering aquatic bay

While I picked through the daylilies

wandering through my lost memories

A lonely singing cross echoed many melodies

Sublime and divine like that of the earth itself

Crippling like the turn and the changing tide's prime

Quick like the grip of an elder bellied hick

a shot from the hip to the lip of the spine

Luck was left so forth behind

As I cried through the night from a sight

left in quivers

Buried blind cherries did not deliver

anything but shivers

and even though the light brought such desire

nothing but ash lay under the fire

A simple knock and at the foot of the tree

fell a bug on a leaf coated in glee

With sunshine and evil with faces of freedom

Past forth the blurry the uncommonly known

the fury the hell bending power of woe

the unkept child in wilderness though

promises on flowers of rotten despair

kindness now hopeless in bottomless stare

these lashes have all but fallen and risen from there

but those eyes see no mercy but pits of glare

Vast canyons they do hold so dear

like that of the might of a warrior's spear

shown no path to glory but faded true

no scratch to counter the awful attack

here lie the open implausible sack

like the rack of a burnt book's due

and the sound of the thunder lay under the blue

with a crack

where past the light tried

but pried forth the vision of this embalming light

it turns to black
