"Uhmmm, are you listening?"
Fingers snap in my face and I shake my head, being honest.
"Are you okay? Cause you've been out of it all day."
I nod my head.
"I'm watching you." She says in the voice of the old creepy woman in Monster's Inc.
I smile, and look up at her. I adored this girl. She was funny and caring but smart-mouthed and mean. The brown hair that everyone always thought was died, ended at her upper back and was straightened. I shake my head and roll my eyes. She never left her hair in its natural state. Her earrings relecting the light of the sun and her brown skin seemingly glowing.
"Earth to Jacoby. If you're not going to do this with me, you shouldn't have volunteered to be my partner. You know I take my grades seriously."
"You also take that little dent in your forehead seriously, but you never want to talk about that." I say, teasingly.
She rolls her eyes and smiles that crooked smile, "Oh shut up. Let's get to work."
"Yes sir. I mean ma'am. Nah I meant sir, nevermind." I say.
"Don't come for me, sweetheart. 'Cause last time I checked, you're the one that got your eyebrows arched. "
My smile drops, "That was one time. And it was a dare!"
She laughs, her small dimples becoming apparent, "Excuses , excuses. Now, let's talk about how Telemedicine is very significant in the medical field. "
"Orrrrr, we can talk about how you said you'd be less mean when we met. " I say.
"The whole structure of that sentence just threw me off. And everyone knew I was lying. Do you even remember when we met?"
"Duh. You are my best friend. I remember it almost perectly." I say.
I really did remember.
"Oh really? Then how?" She asks.
I really try to remember the details. We've never really talked about the incident before.
"You had just left out of Starbucks . It was around 9 or 10 at night and you bumped in to me, spilling your hot coffee all over me. " I shake my head before continuing, " Then, you started yelling at me to watch where I was going. So we got into an argument, and then you succeeded in getting my number. It was only then that you said your name was Dehlynie. "
"Oh my gosh! That is not how it happened!" She says, laughing.
"That's how I remembered it. " I shrug, a smirk on my face.
"I'm not even about to play with you. " She says, "We need to get back to work."
"Take a break. That report isn't due until next month."
"I'm trying to end my procrastination. " She says defensively.
"You were still going to be sitting here doing nothing if we were to fast forward an hour."
"Ugh. Whatever." She says.
"Let's go get some popcorn. Let's go see a movie." I recommend.
"Okay, fine. What movie?"
"Ummm.... 21 Jumpstreet." I say.
She gasps dramatically, "Anything with Channing Tatum in it! That man is so fine."
I find myself rolling my eyes, "Just come on."

"Do you have any foods or drinks? If you do, you need to throw them away now." The movie attendant says.
