Fān (Yī's mom) is an African American who was adopted by a family named the Wongs. She was the only fluent english speaker besides Jiao Wong (her new sister). She learned Mandarin and once the girls were old enough māma and bāba decided to move back to China. Growing up in China was a little rough but Fān had learned to like it. She fell in love with a boy named Delun. But Delun was a "bad boy" so Fān was forced to breakup with him. When Delun started calling and harassing her they decided to send her back to the U.S (all while she is secretly pregnant). Fast forward Yī is 15 and life takes a DRAMATIC turn!!!
