*Jerked from her dream*
I look around my room and notice its still dark out. "What time is it?" Yī says still groggy from sleep. "1 in the morning"...ugh only me Yī thought to herself. Yī decides to get out of bed and sit at her vanity. "Well Happy 16th Birthday Kiddo" she said sarcastically to herself. Its been 5 days since my mother went missing...and no word. Yī lights some candles on her vanity. She then pulls out the letter with the dragon symbol, rereading the letter over and over."My dearest Yī I've missed you so dearly, I've only seen pictures of you. I could never find where your grandparents hid you from me. I know that Jiao will be bringing you to China. I can't wait to see you princess.
Sincerely, Your loving father"I leave for China later today. I will miss my life here...Āyí said I can visit when I feel necessary. Yī looks in her vanity at herself pulling her hair out of her bun (letting her abundance of hair fall past her shoulders). I know my "father" has something to do with mother's disappearance. If I wanna see her I'll just have to find him first.
(Time lapse to 10am)
When Jiao woke up and I was at the table eating sweet rice. "Goodmorning aunty" I said not looking up from my rice. "Morning sweet bun, are you feeling any better?" she asked with a faint smile. "some sort" I said finally making eye contact with her. She runs off to the back room and comes back with a bunch of hóng bāo. "These are from me and there are even more waiting for you back home."......"home" Yī thought to herself "what exactly is home?"
