Chapter 1
Haley
I woke up to the sound of singing. A sweet, sweet song. Four voices harmonizing to my favorite song. For a moment, I thought I was in Heaven. Then I remembered--I am in Heaven.
A month earlier my uncle had presented me with the best present ever. He had recently been plucked from his music studio in Georgia, to be the personal DJ for the boy band: 'Mindless Behavior'. The boys had everything they needed then, music, dancing, fans. But there was one thing missing. It was a style.
For years I had spent time doodling in my sketchbook, little fashion designs, and then pictures of my favorite celebrities dressed in them. My uncle had noticed my keen sense of style, and had talked it over with their manager. Then, a week before Christmas, he told me that I was going to be working for Mindless Behavior, as their Personal Shopper and stylist. And I nearly peed my pants.
Just remembering that amazing moment made me shiver with excitement. Then I realized the singing had stopped, and there they stood right in front of me, on the tour bus.
Princeton's curly bed head was so adorable, as he smirked lightly at me. Ray Ray had two braids tossed over his shoulders, only in his boxers and a large t-shirt. Roc Royal had on nothing but his boxers, which was a normal for him. And Prodigy stood fully dressed next to Princeton. They all looked so glorious.
"Get up, sleepy head." Ray Ray threw a pillow at my head.
"No," I laughed, throwing the pillow back. "Leave me alone..." I missed where I was aiming and hit Princeton on forehead.
His head flopped back and curls sprang everywhere. "What'd I do?" He huffed, sitting next to me on the bed. "No, but seriously. Get up. We're almost to Miami and you're supposed to take us shopping."
"They're not dressed," I pointed to Ray Ray and Roc Royal, who blushed as I pointed it out.
"They're lazy," Prodigy laughed before smacking them both on the back of their heads. They cringed.
"Dang, already causing problems first thing in the morning," Ray Ray grumbled, before grabbing my hand and pulling me out of bed. I bit my lip at his touch, it left me feeling all tingly. He was so warm.
"Where are you taking me?" I asked. "Go back to rehearsing, or whatever that was."
"Yeah, we were practicing," Ray Ray replied, pushing me into the small bathroom. "Brush your teeth. And...put some clothes on." He closed the door behind me, and I felt my cheeks growing warm.
All I had on was a cami and hiked-up basketball shorts. Very awkward. I wasn't used to sleeping with all these guys...
Ray Ray
After I shut the door, I found myself dancing a little bit in the hallway. She was so fine.
"We are so lucky," I heard Roc saying as I walked back into the bunk area. He was slipping on some jeans, so I started getting dressed too. "We could've got some old lady to be our stylist and we got her."
"I know though, right?" Princeton shook his head at the thought. "She's gorgeous, and she's got good taste."
"She doesn't want anyone like you guys though," Prodigy grinned, "She wants a real man like me. Sophisticated and everything."
"Sophisticated?" Princeton snorted. "I know you're not talking--"
"Guys, shh. She's gonna come back out any minute, and hear you guys. Shut up." I hopped onto her bed and put my head down on her pillow. "Mm, she smells good too...
"Who smells good?" Haley stepped out of the bathroom, her black hair up in a bun, and her dark skin clear of any blemishes or makeup. I liked natural girls.
"Nothing," we all said quickly. We had this thing, a curse almost. We just didn't like to let girls on about the fact we liked them. It was bad for the ego. We all had the problem.
"Okay...get off my bed please." She glanced at me and I stood quickly, straightening my clothes.
"Whatever, no need for the attitude." I mumbled.
She rolled her eyes at me, but when she went to grab her clothes under her bed, I saw her blush.
As she bent over, I noticed Princeton checking her out, and I had to punch him in the gut. I mean, you can't just be so open about doing stuff like that. Even if she was good looking.
Princeton
I doubled over at the blow to my gut. "Geez," I sucked in a breath. "Like what the hel-"
"Ya'll have problems," Haley stood back up, holding a pair of skinny jeans and a yellow shirt in her hand.
"Says the special one," Roc teased. She giggled lightly. Her laugh was so cute. I instantly felt myself getting jealous of Roc. Why did he get all the girls attention? Wasn't curly hair good enough for them anymore?
Since I had a button up shirt on, I decided to casually unbutton it, you know, to show off my muscles for her. Usually it got girls all worked up, but Haley barely glanced my way as she hurried off to the bathroom.
"Button your shirt back up, man, you look like an idiot." Ray punched me in the arm and I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah man, whatever."
Haley
Princeton...the things you do to me. When I saw him unbutton that shirt, I nearly fainted. I had to run to the bathroom before they saw me gasping for air. If I had to pick any of the Mindless boys, it'd have to be Princeton. He was cute, funny...sweet. Mindless. The whole package.
When I was dressed and had brushed my hair, and splashed myself with perfume, the bus was getting ready to stop. The mall we were going too was pretty big, and had all my favorite stores for the boys.
I was personally hoping for personal time with Princeton, so I made it so that each boy would be at one store at a time, and I'd help them out. I wanted to start with Princeton, because that way we could shop, and then have breakfast or something in the food court.
I came out of the bathroom and went to the main area of the bus, where surprisingly only Princeton was. He was chilling on the couch, sunglasses on, arm stretched out across one of the seats.
"Hey," I said softly, sitting beside him. He smiled.
"Hey, Haley. So...shopping. Where are we gonna shop?" It was obvious he was trying to come up with things to talk about. Did that mean he didn't like me.
"I don't know. H&M probably. Abercrombie. The normal."
"Cool." We were quiet for a few minutes. Then his arm went around me! My face turned red. "Hey, Haley, I kind of want to talk to you about--"
There was a honk from the front of the bus, and then it pulled to a stop. We were at the mall. All the other Mindless boys were quickly filing in so Princeton and I hopped it up. I guess I'd have to wait to find out what he wanted to say. But he did just have his ARM around me!
I've gotta pull myself together.
