Fighting Inner Demons

Based on a true story. A story that shouldn't have been told in the first place.

Prologue

It's wise to say that everyone has an inner demon. It's a person choice if they choose to succumb to those demonic thoughts. As humans with morals, we try to fight them and contain them. But there are times where it's just all too much.

What exactly do inner demons feed on to make them grow? Pain, anger, abandonment, hurt, tiredness, rejection, repression, and sin.

They say a baptism will banish the demons within and becomes free from the original sin. Bullshit. If that is so, then why do people continually go through reconciliation and ask for forgiveness? Sin goes on and keeps going.

It's a struggle really. You know, fighting the urges to break a window, cussing out your parents, and rebelling against all authority figures. We all have thoughts of revenge at some point in our life. It's driven by jealousy.

Jealousy.

If it's one thing I'm jealous about, it's towards those kids who have the change to go to the park with their friends and play on the swings. That's the feeling I want: having that weightless feeling when your sitting down while swinging, to have the win push your hair back and forth, and that power you gain from swinging at the highest. As a kid, it feels as if you can almost touch the sky, but right before you touch it gravity comes and pushes you back. It's the thrill really that speaks to me. It's the thrill of being young and going on the swings for the sake of going on the swings.

*****

I'm starting my first story! Just to clarify, it is not a fantasy story. It's a bit dark and twisted, but that's the way I like things.
